    Hi guys,

I moved to Brussels a while ago and have been trying some great beers. I still have a lot to go, though

Anyway, I've been looking for a good kriek to offer a casual beer lover and wonder if some of you may help me in my search. So far I've tried Lindemans (too sweet), Cantillon (too sour) and Belle-Vue (ok sweetness, but a slight metalic aftertaste).

The next I have on my list are Boon, Mort Subite and Timmermans "retro"/"tradicional". Any thoughts on these or any other good candidates?

    Thanks!

If they don't like Cantillon or Lindemans its probably a lost cause.

But you could try the Kriek De Ranke, its still pretty sour but also a bit different than the traditional krieks and the sweetened krieks.

My girlfriend dislikes most sours and enjoyed the LP Kriek. I would give that one a try.

Boon Kriek is a nice entry level. I still enjoy it from time to time!

I personally like the Liefmans Kriekbier as one to introduce people to - not too sweet and not too sour/funky.

If Cantillon's too intense, steer clear of Hanssens.

Perhaps Girardin, 3 Fonteinen, on Lindemans Kriek Cuvee Rene?

Another vote for LP kriek. Nice cherry flavor, not over the top sour or sweet.

Lindemans Kriek Cuvee Rene is probably spot on for an introduction to non-sweetened krieks.

The Oude is really good, along with Mariage Parfait.

I heard Lou Pepe (Kriek and Framboise) and Fou' Foune are the least sour from Cantillon.

Fou' Foune is definitely the most sour Cantillon.

I was suggesting this. On tap its actually not bad. I didnt like my bottle(too vinegary), but the tap version was pretty sweet.

Mort Subite Kriek is pretty accessible and "easy".
