With the Extreme Beer Fest right around the corner, just wanted to know if anyone heard of any out of market can/bottle drops happening this week in local stores.

I know some Half Acre dropped today.

Isnt Half Acre already distro'ed in Massachusetts?

They started distro around the time of Copenhagen Beer Celebration in 2016. It's not full distro, but we have been getting semi-regular shipments ever since.

I feel like the majority of out of distro stuff usually starts dropping the week after the fest, but we shall see.

Barrier cans - that's nice. Any specifics on where they've been popping up?

Friend was at Julios when he sent the txt, so id assume decent craft beer stores around worcester/metro west today with deliveries throughout the week.

Nope. Only when they're in town for festivals. Once or twice a year maybe.

    September 2016, January 2017, September 2017, January 2018.

I guess that doesn’t meet the definition of semi-regular for everyone.

If anyone is curious, I put together a list of all the EBF drops that have made it to Fort Point Market (off their instagram) so far. They seem to be ahead of the game, but I imagine most of these will make it to the usual shops pretty soon as well.

    Barrier
    Non-Cent Pale Ale
    Tanto IPA
Juice Chills DDH IPA (Rushing Duck collab)
Money Mad Fat! IPA (Interboro collab)

    Newburgh
    Cream Ale
    Nano Boss Pale Ale
    Mega Boss IPA
    Giga Boss DIPA

    Half Acre
    Daisy Cutter Pale Ale
    Gone Away IPA
    Plane Wave IPA
    Navaja DIPA

    Burial
    Ceremonial Session IPA
    Hawk Bill IPA
    Surf Wax IPA
    Massacre of the Innocents IPA
    Skillet Donut Stout
    Griddle Imperial Espresso Stout
Jealousy & Murder Mixed Culture Saison (Blackberry Farm collab)
Jumping the Pool Sour with Pink Lemonade Blueberries (Night Shift collab)

    Sketchbook
    Insufficent Clearance Hazy IPA
    Orange Door DDH IPA

    A couple others I wasn't sure were EBF-related:
Urban Artifact Pocket Watch Sour with Grape, Plum, and Blackcurrants
Against the Grain London Balling BA Barleywine and Citra Ass Down DIPA (appears they could have distribution through 12%, but I haven't seen it)

CBC Belmont when I went on Monday only had Half Acre so far, but they did have Tuna as well as the ones at Fort Point. Pretty hefty stacks of cases as well.

This is a bit of a tangent, but does anyone know why Fort Point Market seems to get the best drops, or are there other locations that get the same stuff and just dont tweet about it?

I think you've certainly nailed part of it -- Tony does a fantastic job on social media and they are more frequent with their posts than any other shop I can think of in Boston. I'm not a beer industry guy, but I assume if you're moving lots of beer (as a result of promotion on social media), you probably get more bottles and cases frequently?

I picked up 3F there today -- 375's of Armand & Gaston and Oude Geuze and a 750 of OG as well. Thought that may have been related to EBF, but on second thought, maybe not...

Craft Collective is dropping special/limited beers from these breweries this week and early next:

Beer'd (special cans this week even though not an EBF brewery)
    Bolero Snort
    Bottle Logic
    Brewery Vivant
    Burial
    Four Quarters
    KCBC
    Relic
    Throwback
    Transient
    Transmitter
    TRVE

We usually emphasize the Boston area for EBF related drops.

Assuming you work for CC, in which I just want to say, you guys crush it.

Is everything you mentioned going to be in shops, or will some drop as draft-only?

    Thanks man. Our pleasure.

Everything I listed is package (mostly cans) that will hit bottle shops.
