DC Brau pale ale is just okay.

That's my bad, though. We have many world class hoppy beers here. Should have held out for a porter, stout, or barleywine (which I doubt we'd get from DC or Revolution).

Drinking anti hero right now, enjoyable, not anything special. Not sure on dc yet.

Redstone in Andover had DC Brau and Anti Hero last time I checked. The Corruption is a great beer

Agreed GalaxyHero is a tasty beer. I hear good things about their porter hopefully that sees it way to shelves. I have had their winter beer Fistmas. Not a fan of winter ales. But they do it well I think its a fresh hop amber ale with spices. A twist on the winter warmer style and they pull it off.

Marty's in Allston has Revolution Anti-Hero and Bottom-Up Wit, and are supposed to get some DC Brau soon, they said the Marty's in Newton will get the same, plus the DC Brau porter.

Anyone able to explain to someone with limited knowledge of beer distro laws why DC Brau is showing up even though they weren't at EBF?

Lots of Anti-Hero cans at Julio's this afternoon when I stopped by. I picked up a sixer for ~$10.

I emailed them. Said they were doing a one time pulse drop through Alliance.

Legally doesn't it happen because BA buys all the beers that are sold at the fest. And to be able to buy them, the brewers needs a distributor?

Nope. Not only was Harpoon not at EBF, but they had nothing to do with EBF. Any non-MA distributed beer is happening at a temp licenses bases via other distributors that we helped the breweries partner with.

And they're not "leftovers" per se. Some bring in extra for distro, and some are full kegs/cases from the fest that are returned to the distributor for credit and then returned to the brewery or redistributed in the area based on the brewery.

Tapped items are not redistributed. We pull some for volunteers to drink after the Saturday cleanup, but the rest is sent back and destroyed.

I can help "destroy" some of those tapped kegs

so the "extra" beers could be distributed to retailers through several different distributors within MA, i.e. not just one?

Yes, as we work with multiple distributors, however, each brewery works with a single distributor.

Big Bad Baptist at Redstone Liquors. People there said they couldn't post it online as they normally do for their bigger or hard to find releases. Looked like maybe a case. Assuming a EBF drop as Epic does not Distro here. Anyways, glad I found that just sitting on the shelf when went in for the new Morph.

DC Brau being in the area is just a taste to prepare for ACBF.
