Hi all, I'm thinking of getting a 30A, 240V PID system and am comparing prices. It looks like ebrewsupply has it pre-assembled for about $1500 and the electric brewery has it for about the same price not assembled and for nearly $1000 more pre-assembled (~$2300). Basically $1500 vs $2300 - has anyone compared these two products and is there any reason for this huge difference in terms of quality? Or is it simply the electric brewery is charging an arm and a leg for assembly whereas ebrew is not?

To me, the Electric Brewery's controller is more if you were brewing professionally in a nano. It's tricked out with a top of the line box, amp meter, volt meter, etc…To me it's kind of the Mercedes of control boxes. Ebrewsupply is still a very nice assembly (way nicer than mine), but not quite as pimped out.
But in the end…yeah think Kal would rather that you put it together than him…$1,000 for assembly is making a statement…cause my guess is it takes a day for assembly and packing/shipping is probably way harder assembled than when in pieces that you can just stuff in the control box.

Gotcha, ok good to know - didn't realize the inner components were distinct between the two as well. Thank you for the response telejunkie!

I have a 50 amp panel that I ordered from theelectricbrewery that I assembled myself. Quite honestly, I love it. I've had minor issues with some of the components and they were very helpful in helping me exchange the components. I love my panel. Take a look at the panel that they offer where you can heat up the HLT and Boil kettle at the same time. I thought that's what I was ordering, but it wasn't.
