Which beers are being released in April in San Diego? I'm heading out that way at the end of the month and would be interested in what's available/special for sale to bring back.

No muling for Alesmith releases - you need to trade for them or find someone who isn't buying the full allocation.

I don't know exactly how the details work, but if I was to place the order in said mule's name, would that work? I may be wrong, in which case ignore my posts in this thread

yes, but then that person wouldn't be able to buy any bottles. Each person can only pick up one allotment. So you would need to find someone who doesn't want any.

There is some debate about this. I know someone who did this - paid for the allocations but put down their mule's name for the bottles. The mule had some difficulty getting the bottles. In the end Ale Smith did give him the bottles but said it was a one time thing. It seems the mule also needs to pay for the allocations.

While I was there picking up my BA Speedway allocations last month, I overheard a conversation between the women running the tap room and another customer. The customer asked about people having the same name (like himself and his son). The Ale Smith employee said they track by credit card numbers. Now I doubt this is completely true or if it is then I have some issues with my CC # passing from BPT to Ale Smith. Maybe they can get access to the last 4 numbers of the card?

Ohh and back on topic, I am excited to see what 5050 does this year with Eclipse. More bottles to run through my french press :stuck_out_tongue:

During one pickup I was asked for ID and CC used for purchase.

The receipts have last 4, so I would assume Alesmith can see that much, if not more.

A couple of pieces of food for thought:
    1) At least one Alesmith employee posts here from time to time, and there are probably multiple employees who read these forums.
    2) Your mileage may vary on skirting the rules, but keep in mind, the more that people push it, the more they'll notice, and the more likely it is that they'll crackdown. They've adopted a sales model for limited releases that is viewed as one of the most consumer-friendly methods going right now - please don't fuck it up for the rest of us by making them do extra work in tracking down mules and duplicate orders.

I had no intentions of fucking it up, or going above any allocations. I apologize if my posts looked that way. Just might not be able to head down to SD for every release and was hoping that a mule for a release was possible. It isn't, no harm. I will try to find someone who didn't get a full allocation to possibly pick one up for me. If not, then it's not the end of the world.

Don't you have like 2-3 months after a sale to pick up the bottles? I'm pretty sure that the last 2 special releases had overlapping pickup dates, so you could have killed 2 birds with 1 stone.

    Regarding 1) Yep, DrtyBvrJuce
    2) Don't fuck it up for others since AleSmith is doing a great job already

Doesn't matter what beer you're discussing, someone has to trot out the tired old "H" word.

And we're posting here because we're f-ing freezing to death, & typing staves off hypothermia in the upper extremities. Below zero last night & baseball opener is two weeks away. *%^&%$*$

I'm not sure - I think that whatever happened in AbeCal's quote propagated downward. I should have fixed that -sorry.

BA has too quick of an edit timeout.
