Take it to an epic bottle share like at the FW Invitational. I know more than a few people that can help you finish it and we'll have great bottles to share with you.

To be honest, your very close to the truth, except that it's in a Kleen Kanteen--drip comes later. Oh, and also I take that canteen everywhere. :grinning:

and you havent got into really good stuff like Harlan, Screaming Eagle, Grace Family, etc... $30 for a decent bottle of beer is kids stuff compared to my wine habit.

Your palate clearly has a finely tuned ability to taste hype and rarity.

Any hints on what barrels will be used this year?

I was wondering if anyone had experience with being a trustee for multiple people for the Eclipse release. Does 50/50 combine shipments or send all orders separately? What are the shipping cost like? Is there that much savings for ordering a case (or half) verse say 5 bottles?

    I do.

Super generous guy (injuredreserve) sends me a bottle shipper full of beer (when I say I'd do it for only 1 bottle), I send him (and his friends) their Eclipse.

I don't know about what fiftyfifty does shipping wise.

I have done multiple orders for myself and out of state friends, and 50-50 just shipped them separately so I could keep track of whose beer was whose. They are really quite flexible, however, and I am pretty sure they would combine shipments into a single shipper. Shipping cost was close to $40 per full 12 bottle shipper ($65 for two shippers with 20 bottles total). They do smaller shippers for less, obviously.

I wish they used High West Rendezvous Rye.

I'm guessing it will be ryes -- although they have several beyond Rendezvous -- because 50-50 didn't list a Heaven Hill/Rittenhouse expression on the list. I have heard from Healthy Spirits that they provided 50-50 with a couple of barrels to do one or two special expressions, and last year they did several not available for pre-order, so who knows what the ultimate list will be.

Siggy! A man after my own heart! Let these kids drink a Giacosa Reserva or a Penfold's Grange (or, heaven forbid a Burgundy of merit) or one of the California cult wines like the type you mention and they can see what "real men" (and women) spend on a drink!!

But.....how often do you open a Harlan, Screaming Eagle or Grace Family? I have no problem opening an Eclipse, or Cable Car on a whim any Tuesday night sitting on the patio, but to open up a Harlan, or even a single Vineyard Alpha Omega I may pause and rethink my choice, well I will open the AO at the drop of a hat. If you open these on any kind of regularity let me know, I will bring a bottle and share. I hear where you are coming from on the price point though my wine cellar is way more pricey than the beer.

If being at the kids table means spending $45 on a bottle of Justin Justification, then add a seat there for me.

Caspar is wonderful, and the views from the yard are breathtaking. Are you tasting Skipstone at Maisonry or did you arrange something at the estate?
