Eclipse Futures 2014

If it's anything like last year, you'll get a certificate in the mail with the number of each variety that you ordered on it. Then you wait. Late in the year, you will get an email from their paypal account confirming your shipping address and how much you owe. Then you pay again. Then they ship when they are packed up and ready to ship

Ordered 2 of everything at about 8:05. Easy as pie and took less than 5 minutes. Fantastic job Alicia!

 

Why?

 

single barrel i love, but all the single malts ive tried have not been my favorite. but thats not to say when u age beer in it it wont be the shit. im just letting my personal expierence get in the way and am probably missing out on a great beer.

 

you prefer blended whiskeys to single malts or am i confused?

Probably much smaller. Their Facebook page says 300 orders in the first five minutes. I've tried to buy from other breweries plenty of times where it seems like nobody got through in the first five minutes because of crashes, so this was a pleasant surprise

 

Wasn't the high west used in 2013, or was that the bourbon? I'm assuming this is their whisky and if it's the one that I googled and not (mixed) then it should be nice to try. One thing I love about this line is the taste difference that occurs.

 

2013 did have a High West Bourbon in the tangerine wax. But they also had a rye.

 

Got in about 8:05 and was able to get one each of the Futures Only varieties.
Eight hours earlier I was up watching the lunar eclipse.

 

No kidding. Not entirely sure if it's due to the massive attention that other beers get or what. IMO Eclipse releases are in my top 5 because of the variety of the barrels used instead of just a BA there's a lot of BA variants to try.

 

I have a question about the 2013 PVW Eclipse. I bought some from El Cerrito Liquor the other day and I noticed that both bottles read " Bottle Run No: 2/2013" I thought it was a numbered release of 1500 bottles? Or did they release a small amount at stores?

 

2013 is the year. 2 is the PvW version. I think.

 

Sumdeus is right about the year. 2 is just the bottle run number. The "Pink Pearl" wax lets you know that it is the PvW version.

 

Since this was my first time ordering, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me when the certificates shipped out in previous years. Thanks

 

it was some time in Oct/Nov as we get closer to the release party, the first Thurs in Dec
