Per an email from Alicia this morning:
My boxes are showing that they were picked up Friday and will be delivered tomorrow in San Diego...I would guess everyone will have theirs by Thursday at the latest.

Fed Ex came to my door today but unfortunately there was no one to sign. Tomorrow I'm drinking too much Eclipse :astonished:

Arrived today San Diego. Nice email from Alicia saying that the tracking info had gone to her junk folder, so the tracking number arrived at the same time as the box.

Never received an email from Alicia, so I am hoping everything's fine with my futures. Hopefully mine will arrive soon so I can drink them.

Mine arrived today and I am currently sipping on the High West Bourbon. So damn good. Also it would appear there has been a slight change to the base beer going from 9.5% to 11.9%

My vague memory is that Todd and Alyssa said that the base is the same (or close to it) but they are trying to get the bottle ABV numbers closer to reality. Don't hold me to that but there was some related discussion.

Closer to reality based on what? Since 07 the bottles have said 9.5% so did a change take place awhile ago. It seems to be quite a huge jump in abv.

The reality is that the base beer is 9.5%, so there's no way in hell Eclipse could be, or ever was 9.5%. I always laughed at the ABV on the Eclipse bottles when Totality was clearly listed at 9.5% on their website. Now, that doesn't mean the base beer hasn't changed over time, but just stating what I noticed several years ago.

Closer to the reality that it was always higher than 9.5% even though that was on the label.

I think this year's eclipse tastes absolutely fantastic. I have only had the Makers Mark and Buffalo Trace so far, and can honestly say I like them more than the previous 2 years. I know the last batch is always supposed to be better than the recent batch, so of course I'm wrong. This may be a good candidate for the drink fresh don't age crowd.

In 2012 we had all Eclipse bottling runs tested for ABV and micro. The micro on all came back clean. We knew the ABV was going to jump as the barrels we used were 'wetter' than in previous years. Thus the increase. ACL bottles are a pain so it took the lab work to change up the paint scheme. Of course we're trying to dial in the mouthfeel and think the 2013's are great compared to prior releases....

I was going from a vague memory on the ABV discussion. I've got to agree that this year's brews are awesome, though I like most all of the prior ones too!

Just checked my tracking number and it still says that my futures haven't been received by FedEx, but I know they were mailed out with everyone else's, has anyone else had this problem where they received their futures but FedEx never updated the tracking?

Sounds like you're fucked. Bottles probably broke. Best thing to do is panic.

Probably so. :grimacing: Still no update on the tracking. Sounds like something happened during pick up and probably the driver never scanned them. But you think they would scan them at the warehouse.

    Paul-

The guys are still filling the futures orders. Because we were so cold up here post release nothing was processed as the risk of freezing was way to high. Sunday till Friday anywhere from-17 to 0 overnight every night. If you have a tracking # it means FedEx knows you have a shipment tendered(a shipping label has been printed) Until you see in Fed Ex possession it means it's still at fiftyfifty. Of course it's peak holiday shipping time to so go figure... Patience...

Is there a particular reason why the release and related activites fall in December? Wine production has to follow the calendar but I've always thought beer can be produced at any time. December's weather in Truckee presents many challenges. Not complaining, just looking to learn something. Thanks
