A reminder to those headed to Truckee next week. Right now we're getting significant rain...to warm to snow. There are still a few more storms due to come through and the chance to significant snow always possible. If you're coming from the West...pay attention to the Weather Channel and visit the CalTrans road conditions website. If it does snow there will be a lot the traffic and will be slow going. Snow in Truckee means skiiers, the town will quickly fill up. Hotels will be completely full if there is skiable snow on the gound.

If you are driving from the West and leaving just hours before the party give yourself a bit more time. The party happens if I-80 is open or closed...

If you coming from Reno...Caltrans loves to close I-80 with just a little snow. Watch for road conditions... For those flying in it's not that bad but a point of interest is that Reno, NV does not maintain the streets for snow/ice clearing or very poor at best. Many Reno residents and visitors have no clue on driving on snow/ice and there are so many fender benders during and after snow storms the Reno PD asks that accidents that don't have injuries, that drivers exchange information and report accident at police station or via website.

All that being said... I look forward to seeing all of you! Meeting the new folks and chatting with old friends! Please travel safely! There is plenty of Eclipse and many, many surprises! There will be vintages from all years we've done Eclipse all the way back to 2007! A six year vertical will be up for silent auction(portion of proceeds to charitable organization). Other stuff is going to have to wait to be announced...yes, there will be a commerative and unique Eclipse variant available ONLY to party attendees!

    Cheers!

Todd, I am going to be too busy drinking plenty of your newest creations to mess with anything else. Blaspemy to even consider drinking non eclipse items. Irrespective of what I just said to huadog.

Well, I hear what you're saying...indeed! It's really nice to have the chance to get all that beer in one place. 5050 products and what folks bring in. With folks trying to one up one another with Cantillon and Drie Fonteinen, or was it ultra fresh Heady Topper... I'm not trying to game the party so to speak to get to drink these beers but there are very few chances to find the stuff these days...

    Cheers!

This is f-ing ridiculous. All u-can-drink Eclipse plus sours? Don't have anything that old and sour, but can bring a 3 year old Home brewed lambic, and a couple other goodies from Odells.

Can anyone heading to the party pick up an extra 6 bottles? My original plan of having someone pick them up has fallen through... I can send a shipper to you with some local beer and a return label to make things nice and easy.
Start a conversation if you think you can help out.

Update on weather etc. expected for party etc. So, it's looking like we won't have snow below 8000 feet so 'chain control' will not be in play. What we do have is the 'Pineapple Express'...which is a series of strong storms of drenching rain from the Pacific. It's been raining here for several days and Lake Tahoe is full and it's going to cause the Truckee River to flood a bit in low lying areas in Truckee and east in Reno and Sparks.

If you have been watching the weather/news stations a few reports make it sound like Truckee is going to be underwater... The area that is going to flood is several miles from FiftyFifty. The brewery is on much higher ground at least 500 feet (we're in the mountains!). So, those not familiar with the terrain of Truckee...Eclipse is safe and the party is on!

My one caveat is to check traffic on I 80 prior to departing for Truckee. Because there has been so much rain has come down in a short period there are number of things that can foul up traffic along the I 80 corridor.

Please travel safe and look forward to seeing you!

Looks like it is going to slow down here after a few hours. Forecast is calling for a dry Thursday too. Crazy stormy weekend, but it looks like once again, the Eclipse party is blessed when it comes to weather. 3/3 Todd, let's keep it up!
