I walked into a store today and saw several bottles of fifty fiftys 2013 eclipse. Some bottles had red wax and some had orange but both were 11.9%. Any idea what the difference is and if so is one better than the other? I want to know before I go spending $25+ on a bottle of beer. Thanks in advance for the info and if this is an ignorant question I apologize.

They are all the exact same beer. The company just enjoys using different color wax because they employ the same amount of effort as yourself.

I do believe it is the type of bourbon used that denotes the wax color.

I believe red wax is Four Roses bourbon barrels
    Not sure about Orange wax.

Of the distro/futures varieties, Elijah Craig 12 followed by Evan Williams. I've heard good things about the High West Rye as well. The Java variant got a lot of hype, but I found it disappointing by the standard of coffee stouts.

Then again, they still have enough bottle variation that I could open a Makers Mark or Buffalo Trace bottle in a few weeks and be blown away (probably won't be since Eclipse almost never reaches the level of blowing me away, but a lesser barrel treatment can occasionally produce stellar bottles).
