In the instructions for adding a beer, it clearly states to not use the brewery name when adding a beer. Yet, there are a lot of beers that have a listing such as "Brewery XXX IPA". I was just looking at the Bells page https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/287/ , and it makes it a PITA looking for a given beer. I know it's likely a low priority, but can we get these cleaned up? At least as part of an ongoing process?

What about beers where the brewery lists it on their site with the brewery name in the name of the beer, presumably intentionally?

Ok, I just redid Bell's page. Please go to the page and click all. All but one should have the word Bell's removed. I've also tried to change variants, when possible, so that the names line up a bit better.

Thanks for hanging with us! Its a long, tedious process, but we're getting to it. If you ever have changes, or want to add missing info like ABV, etc, please submit an edit suggestion.

Not only are we in the process of cleaning up the names, etc, but we are also editing listings when people send in a suggestion.

    Cheers!

Not to mention, when you clean up pages, there tends to be duplicates that need to be merged...phew

This explains where my missing review went. The Christmas ales from 2016 to earlier were a different beer, and a scottish ale, lower ABV. 2017 was a scotch ale and higher ABV. Please revert all of the previous merges you just made for that beer.

What is the preferred way for listing collaborations?

By the facility it was physically brewed at. they technically "own" the beer until it's sold to another entity (Customer, distributor, collaborating brewery, etc).

I got that part -- but do you acknowledge the other brewery when entering the beer name at all? And if so, what's the convention for doing so?

The Sierra Nevada ones that have the same beer name, but a different collaborator every year, come to mind. Beer Camp, too. I get you list it on the SN page if it's brewed there. But is it...

    Oktoberfest
    Oktoberfest 2018
    Oktoberfest (with Weihenstephaner)
    Weihenstephaner Oktoberfest
    Oktoberfest - Weihenstephaner Collaboration
    Something else?

Collaborations should be listed by the brewery that the beer is being released from, then the next brewery, separated by a slash. Some beers are released by both breweries. This is done so that the beers will line up on the respective brewery pages better.

Preferably eliminate words such as brewing, etc

    For instance

Triple C / Lenny Boy - Griffith Street
-this if for the beer released by Triple C

Lenny Boy / Triple C - Griffith Street
-this is for the beer released by Lenny Boy

They seem to be mixed up. Both listings are backwards. The 2017 listing is as a scottish ale and the 2016 is listed as the wee heavy. The retirement, ABV, year, and style should be swapped between the two listings. Thanks
