I no longer have a menu for posting photos, videos, inserting links, changing font size, etc. All I see is a subject line and the field to type a message (which I'm typing in now). Where's all the stuff that used to be here? How are people posting photos now?

Not sure if this helps, but the menu options (pictured here) do appear on my home computer, which has Internet Explorer 10.

However, on my other computer, which has IE9, none of this appears.

Interesting...it shows up properly for me using Chrome, FireFox, and Safari on my Mac.

You know, I've been on here about a year and have never seen this when using Chrome on my Mac. I always thought it was odd that I couldn't make smileys or insert pics. I just always copy/pasted from photobucket or used code to bold my font, etc. Interesting.

Any chance you might have accidentally hit the button with the piece of paper/wrench on it on the far right at some point in time? That changes you out of the WYSIWYG editor to Code style editor.

Good call. I'll check that when I get home tonight. It certainly doesn't pop up on my work computer. I use IE and Chrome with Windows. Let me mess around and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a simple browser support issue. You should always use the most recent version of your browser of choice. If you can't for some reason, try installing a different browser.

This is my work laptop, I can't make any changes to the software. I guess I'm SOL.

I am using the latest version of IE (IE10); I do automatic updates so I always have the latest versions. The toolbar is missing as reported by draheim.

Is there a reason that the recent upgrade (which occurred just a couple of days ago) made it incompatible with IE10?

    Cheers!

Well, it looks like draheim is having the opposite problem from you - in his case it works on IE10 but not on IE9.

I am replying using Firefox which lets me bold and use italics.

My preferred browser is IE (IE10) so I am bummed about the lack of compatibility with IE10.:slight_frown:

All I know is that the toolbar worked/appeared on both computers (either IE9 or IE10) before the upgrade, and now it doesn't. This will greatly hinder my ability to waste time at work, so I am pretty bummed about that.

I wonder if there's some kind of setting within IE to get the toolbar to appear again? I don't know, and I'm probably not savvy enough to figure it out. All I know is it worked before and it doesn't work now.

It's in the interest of BA to be as accessible as possible regardless of what browser/hardware configuration members are using, so hopefully they take this matter seriously and help us figure out how to get full functionality back. It's not like IE9 is an ancient version of the browser (let alone IE10).

If you're unfortunately stuck with IE, try adjusting Compatibility View on or off and see which one works for you based on your browser version.

No difference. Maybe I'll just try installing Chrome and hope I don't get in trouble, but it's a bit of a hassle to use a different browser for just one website when everything else seems to work fine in IE. I can't upgrade IE on this machine to the latest version because we have corporate applications designed to run in a browser setting and IE9 is what we use.

FWIW, while using IE10 I went to Tools and clicked on Compatibility View settings. There was a list of 4 websites listed in a box entitled Websites you’ve added to compatibility view; one of those sites listed was beeradvocate.com. Why that was there I have no idea. I have zero knowledge that I added any of those websites to that box. I removed beeradvocate.com from the box and now I have the tool bar present for posting messages; I have ‘fixed’ my problem. I am uncertain whether this process will fix your issue but you might want to try it.

    Cheers!

I tried adjusting these settings yesterday and it didn't appear to make any difference. However, I just noticed that the toolbar is back, and I'm on my laptop using IE9. So who the hell knows. All's well that ends well I guess. Cheers!
