Anyone in Charleston headed to Edmunds Oast and willing to buy me some bottles/growlers and ship them to Charlotte? I can pay for the beer in advance and send you a really nice box of thank you beers. Unfortunately, had a conflict and can't make it down for Brewvival or I'd be bringing back my own haul. Cheers!

Not sure they have an off premises, certainly never saw or heard any mention of growlers. Beer and food is tasty though.

I'll have to check on that I guess. Saw mention of growlers on their website.

In SC an On-premise license "Authorizes the sale of beer and wine "to-go" and also authorizes consumption on the license premises." So every restaurant can sell to-go, even though many don't. The only thing it says on their website is "Growlers are available for purchase stop in for details." I kinda hope that means they won't let people come in and load up on growlers of everything. It would take away from the draw IMO if they tap something unusual/rare and only the first 10 people get to try it (and besides that what rare beer Tuesday at CBX is for).

They will be doing growlers, but aren't yet. I'd expect a large announcement when they do.

Yeah, but it looked like they have bottles from other folks too (again, so says their website - not local so I can't check for myself).

The response on Untappd seems good.

Sure, but not for carryout. It's a restaurant/bar, not a store. (Not being snarky, just saying, don't expect to buy De Cam to-go).

Went last night for dinner with the wife. Excellent atmosphere and the owners Scott and Rich both came by to chat. Rich said they just passed their boiler inspection so for now Westbrook is brewing their beers for them. I tried both the Golden Child (blond sour) and the Faust (brown sour) and they were excellent and not too pricy. ($5 for 12oz pour), as was the food and service. They also have a ton of great stuff on tap (HopSlam, Tropical Trippel, tons of Evil Twin). We weren't given a bottle menu so I assume they are still finalizing that despite the list on the website. No growler pours from what I saw, not sure if that will start once the on site brewing is ready to roll. They are starting brunch next Sunday following Brewvival so check it out if anyone is in town for the festival.

My wife and I were able to get into Edmunds Oast Saturday night and we were very impressed. The atmosphere is gorgeous, the service was perfect and the beers were outstanding. I started with a Lord Proprietor's Mild, an English Style Mild Ale brewed with tea from the Charleston Tea Plantation. This wowed me right away. At 3.5% ABV it is a great session beer, but very flavorable. The tea finish works very well! I followed up with a Wetbrook Weise Weise Baby, a solid Berliner Weisse. At dessert I was so impressed with the house beers that I passed up Barrel Aged Blackbeard, Mexican Wedding Cake, Hop Slam and Sexual Chocolate to finish uip with another house beer, Nameless City Porter. Solid! If you ever wanted to demonstrate to someone the smell of dark fruits in a porter, wave a glass of this beer under their nose. It reminded me of Ten Fidy, but even better.

The food was outstanding but definitely more refined than one would expect in a brewpub. But keep in mind that Charleston has set a high bar for food. I started with the Roasted Brussels while my wife had the House Fries with Curry sauce. We shared an order of the Gin Joint Jerky. It was all solid. For our entrees I ordered the Lamb Meatballs and my wife had the Seared Flounder. We also ordered a small Fresh Charcuterie Board as well. The Charcuterie Board was a stand-out. My wife is German and is notorious for disliking almost all American made sausage. She raved on the Fresh Sausage as well as the house mustard. The Charcutrie boards were selling fast and are a great light meal to share with a few pints.

Rich and Scott both came by and made us feel welcome. Our Server was perfect (Candice). She was attentive without lingering. LOTS OF LOCAL BEER!!!

This will be the place to be next Saturday night after Brewvival. Charleston is quickly becoming a beer destination and Edmunds Oast is going to do for Charleston Brewpubs what the Beer Exchange did for retail.

Yep, agree with most of the SC BAs that are commenting with great reviews about Edmund's Oast- went there this past Saturday night and was VERY impressed. As has been mentioned, their house beers were great- I shared 5oz pours of all four available with my table, and we loved each and every one of them, especially the two sours (think unaged or blended Flanders, and an unaged gueze). Their house beers are the only ones that they plan on offering growler fills of initially, and growlers are not ready to go at this point.

Bottles are not cash and carry, they will pour them for you after you order... one thing that was a bit surprising (and I was suprised by more than a few things...) was that they were not offering any flights as of yet. I spoke with Rich, and he confirmed what I suspected- tasters/flights might create too much extra work/chaos right at the beginning, but he said they have talked about it and are open to the idea... I hope they can make flights work, because their beer list was so impressive that they had at least half of their ~40 draft offerings that I REALLY wanted to try.

My table ordered a large cured charcuterie board, and was very impressed. We also shared orders of a fried flounder, dish, a pork loin dish, a lamb meatball dish, and a polenta dish, and everything exceeded my expectations. The menu was clearly designed to be superbly complementary to their beers. The available selection of food wasn't extremely large (which we actually liked, as it helps focus you on what really matters- beer.), but perhaps they will expand the menu in coming months. Everything was a bit pricey, but not beyond what I expected for the location, experience, and quality.

Their bottle list was pretty damned nice, also, although a bit pricey. I was planning on splurging for a bottle of Atrial Rubicite for my table, but it was already off of the menu on just Day 2 (the opening day menus I saw had it). I did notice some folks having it poured for them at their tables, however, so maybe I just didn't know the secret password or something.

Anyhow, all in all, I was more than impressed, and will be a repeat customer driving from Columbia to sample their wares more often than I should... make no mistake: this is not your average brewpub or bar. It is an upscale restaurant... a restaurant where the beer is absolutely the showcased centerpiece, but a restaurant nevertheless. Can't say I know of anyplace else quite like it, and it certainly is already my favorite restaurant in SC. Congratulations to Scott and Rich, and congratulations to us SC beer nerds that we now have a place like this!

They only had one case, so you likely saw the very last bottle being served.

I was one of the first to sit at the bar, and I saw three bottles go within 3 minutes. IIRC, it was $19/btl, so that must be some damn good stuff!

Love EO!! Can't wait to make it back; possibly Friday after work!
