Westbrook Gose (notice I didn't capitalize the B) is the best I've had. The Anderson Valley is very close. Westbrook makes Gozu, which is the gose w/ yuzu juice that is awesome, but not your standard flavor. Almanac makes the Golden Gate Gose which is decent. Rapp Gose was awesome.

Not sure what you can get in PA, but if you can get your hands on any of these, you will be impressed. I think Cisco Nantucket (Island Reserve maybe?) makes one, but I've never tried it.

Scott Smith of East End Brewing made a great version I don't know if it was a one off or if it was ever reproduced it was called Here It Gose Again!

Second the Ritterguts (avatar) recommendation. I like Leipziger as well.

I would think the Leipziger is available. Ritterguts is distributed by Shelton Bros.

Off Color Troublesome is so much easier to drink than Westbrook's gose it's not even funny.

ehh kinda sorta not quite. typically people are referring to either american wild ales or belgian styles like lambics or flanders reds/bruins. you're getting warmer though!

    What a letdown.

Next thing you know we'll find out we're not even in Germany.

I don't know much about this style, and am very curious. I see a lot of Westbrook posted in the WBAYDN? threads. I am not in Westbrook's area of distro. Anyone know of a brewer that makes it; one I can find here? Cheers!

A lot of love for Westbrook Gose on here. I agree it's a great gose, but I don't think it's the best I've had.

Not too long ago, a bar here in Albuquerque scored a keg of Baciami Lipsia (Birrificio del Ducato) and I found that to be a stellar version of a gose. I would suspect in PA you could find this beer.

Destihl sends a bunch of beers to Tuscon for whatever reason and I got to try their gose and also found it great. I believe they are out of Indiana so you may want to look into them too.

If you're interested in trying some German versions to compare, the two that I've tried are the Leipziger that someone posted a link of above and the Ritterguts: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/7715/11218/

I enjoyed the latter much more.

There's also this guy, which I found okay but not too remarkable: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/10574/91086/

I'd say you should try as many goses as you can, particularly now as they're perfect for the hot summer months, and I'm sure you'll find many you love. Gose is truly a great style.

If Jeff from La Cumbre gets around to reading this, I'm anxiously awaiting any news of the gose I enjoyed so much from last year making a return.

This sounds fuego. I really need to visit that place. I'm always in Tucson but it's been ages since I've headed north to Phoenix. Maybe a visit is in order.

You guys do realize the main reason you see all these other breweries doing Gose all of a sudden is because of Westbrook's Gose?

^^^^ So true, Ritterguts IS the traditional German Gose. BM if you can't track it down.

Can't remember if it was a review or what, but read that Ritterguts is super salty. That just might've been one guy's opinion. Ritterguts isnt' distro'd around deez parts.
