    Growler Tuesday

    GWAR Beer


    It's Growler Tuesday! We brewed a beer in collaboration with legendary band GWAR and Chalmers Brewing Co. and came up with a crushable, refreshing pale ale known asGWAR Beer.

    Today we're offering it for Growler Tuesday! But why are we sending this email to El Catador Club members? Because while the general public will only be able to buy quarts of GWAR Beer, El Catador Club members will be able to buy gallons. Just bring in your club card and show it to a bartender to let them know! Quarts are $8 and gallons are $22. Limit one per person only please. And of course your club discount applies as well!

    Forgotten Island Reminder

    Tomorrow at 11am in the tasting room we'll start the distribution of Forgotten Island bottles to club members. Remember, as this is one of the guaranteed bottles in the club, you have until 30 days after the release of the 5th and final bottle to pick up the bottle.

    Sales for the additional bottles are still being worked on. We will let you guys know once we've established a date and time!

    Do they still have this available in cans? I'm coming in tomorrow for the forgotten island and one of my friends is a pretty big gwar fan.

    There were a bunch of 6 packs there Saturday. IMHO not one of their better offerings.

    I have to wonder what the point of posting the EL Catador emails here is. All members (should) get the emails already, and it doesn't apply to non members. Soooo is the point to brag to the nonmembers?

    I don't know, but I love seeing them. It's like the beer equivalent of buying a lottery ticket and losing, then watching How the Lottery Changed My Life on tv.

    Yeah, you're jealous as shit, but all the toys are so pretty, just try again next time and it could all be yours... :slight_smile:

    Nope, I'm happily in the club.

    Now this I can understand. If I weren't in I'd want to now what I am missing out on, and what I can expect as a possible future member.

    I don't see any reason not to list some of the benefits members get in the forums at all but posting every member email to BA just seems like bragging to me. Gloating over what perks we get that everyone else misses out on. I hope it wasn't the Ops intent.

    For one thing, not all of the members get the email at the same time, and often growler Tuesday is a limited engagement, so time is of the essence. As to why post, if that is the argument why post anything on this site ever? I can't stop by Alesmith to pick up the new batch of Speedway, please don't post about it cause i'll be sad. Darkness label? Don't want to see it, I can't attend. Pics of giant Cantillon hauls? Stop, I don't have access or the whales to get them with.

    Yeah, I didn't get my email until 12 anyway and there was no point by that time since I live an hour away. Also, if this is a Catador special growler, what was the normal growler Tuesday?

    This was the regular growler, But EL Cat members could get a Gallon, others just 32oz.

    Sidebar: It's awesome how many random perks they're throwing at the el Cats. The relative frequency also makes it less "OH GOD WHYYYYYYYY" when I get an email from them announcing a special thing for us. Like, aw man, I can't make it to Growler Tuesday. But that's cool, cuz there'll probably be some other neato thing next week too. Which leads to less complaining, more beer...everybody wins.
