How new is this hop to you other BAs!? I've ran into it twice now, most importantly on Spiteful's Biker Appreciation DIPA. It was mixed with some Citra and blew my freaking mind. Is this one of those hops to looks out for. I was told Spiteful had enough hops to do 1 batch and decided to do it big. I hope they can do it again if they can find and acquired the mix again. Anyone else have experience with this hop they were excited about?
Had a beer Southern Brewing did with this hop and hopbursted it and it was extremely floral. like perfume. Its semi new to me, I would like to try it out next year in a beer I make. oh, the floral was the smell and taste. I recommend it!
I can see that. Paired with citra it is seriously a game changer. I know some big wig brewery will take advantage of this combo shortly. Really floral, eh? Surprising. I'd like to have a single hopped dorado beer. All I know is the combo and a citra type hop is undeniable.
Well, it's El "Dorado." I've brewed with it. I do not find it floral at all, but it's a good aroma hop. It's shit for bittering though. Anyway...it would pair well with pretty much any west coast hop profile.
Of all the newish hop varietals, this does about the least for me. Flying Dog makes a single hop DIPA with it, if you're looking for it in isolation.
It was REALLY floral for my girlfriend. She sipped it, gave me the ugly face and she said it tasted like a bottle of perfume, go figure. I tasted it and I told her I can see what she tastes. I told her that's floral. John Snow, this is def a great hop for aroma. It smells awesome! The citra combo would really kick butt like you said, I can imagine it now! Simple grain bill with All Citra and El Dorado, and a cheapy S-05 or american/california liquid yeast.
At a conference I tasted 4 beers, each brewed to the same specs, using a new hop in each. Results were: Mosaic Meridian El Dorado LR I can see that El Dorado would pair with other hops in a beer.
