I saw that Good People's El Gordo (Alabama) came out today. Anyone have any luck finding it? If so how much was a bomber?

Hoping it hits Huntsville later this week.
I'm planning on getting a bunch if possible.
Ill report back when I'm able to get some in hand.

Don't get your hopes up, they have about 20 cases total. Hop City in Bham got one case and they do more volume than anyone. I did hear it was making it to a few accounts in Huntsville, not sure about Nashville. It made it to Bham accounts this afternoon, should be in Huntsville tomorrow.

Also just for reference Gordo is still draft only, and was released two weeks ago. This bottle release is an aged batch from 2012. These bottles were hand filled and labeled since they don't have a bottling line. If you can get one, enjoy

Was extremely fortunate to get what I got.
I don't even think the kegs showed up that were supposed to.

What did you pay per bomber?

Almost $20 per bomber after tax.
I was surprised at the price for a non barrel aged beer but I guess they know people will pay it.

Two bottles is a score, nice work. Yeah I thought the $17.99 price was steep. I have only had Gordo fresh, interested to see how this 2012 batch will taste.

2012 seemed like coffee fell off compared to fresh 2014. Gained an interesting berry finish. Thoroughly enjoyed and glad I held on to a bottle!

Does the aging make a significant difference to the beer? I was out of state when it dropped, so I naturally missed out, but I had it on tap at the J. Clyde recently and I have to say I was kind of underwhelmed. It wasn't a bad beer, but I had been trying to find some for a couple of years and it just didn't live up to it for me. Maybe I overhyped it in my mind. I thought the mouthfeel was a little watery and that the flavors were not particularly balanced.

In my opinion the aging will make a big difference. I have not cracked my bottled yet, but I know it was brewed summer of 2013, so it sat for over a year before being bottled. I always feel that Gordo is too hot, so hopefully it will mellow with age. I bet it would be remarkable in a bourbon barrel.....

Brewed in 2012, I'm pretty sure it was bottled 5/13.

Has anyone on here traded one of their bottles? And if so, what did it take for you to part with it?

I have had several people contact me about trading but I have not sought out a trade. It should bring a couple of nice bottles if you find someone that really wants to try it

I'm interested in trading for one, was just curious what y'all think it will take.

I traded my other bottle for hill farmstead flora

    So there's that

I would refer to that as Killer Whale Slaying, not trading!
