Any BAs ever eaten here? If so, what beers/styles did you bring to pair with the meal? It's hard to know in advance since the menu is subject to change so any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
Awesome place, my wife took me there for my birthday last year. I'm not that into pairings so I didn't really bring like "food beers" per say. The dishes are pretty inventive so if you wanted to focus on the food likely lighter or less assertive styles may be better. With that said, I brought a sour (saison du fermier), an ipa (can't remember which) and a bourbon county to pair with dessert. Oh and wine for the wife (we took uber home ). The chefs are also into beer- I brought a sour in the rye for the kitchen and shared pours of the beers I brought with the waiter. Enjoy!
Personally I think you are better off with wine during dinner and a beer like BCBS with dessert but that is just my opinion. IF it has to be beer I would go with something light and not to crazy. A nice light Saison would go with most things and then a dessert beer.
Love El. I typically go with wine for dinner, but I would maybe bring a sour that can cut throw some of the heavy savory dishes and a BCBS to go with dessert.
Brought some great wine to El Ideas last winter, but there are better high-end spots in town these days. The menu was very good, but only 3-4 of the 16+ dishes were truly memorable. we were there with our best friends, so we all had a lot of fun, but all of us agreed we most likely wouldn't return.
