Yup. Still CA yeast though, so don't expect a New England style juice bomb.

You can still make a "juicy" IPA with Cal ale yeast if you use the right hops.

They made "Jumping on the Bandwagon" last year. I think it may have just been unfiltered, though, and not a true NEIPA style. It was just OK.

ESBC stepping it up with new haze cans Gotta Get It (Hazy w/Mango). And for those who don’t care for the haze Gotta Get It (West Coast style). Looking forward to both. Hope these make it out for distro. I never tire of El Segundo brews. Fresh Mayberry stubby’s is always killer.

They still have BA Old Jetty bottles, was tasting hot when released but it's mellowed out pretty damn well now. $15 for a 22oz BA barleywine.

Yeah, that beer is awesome. Aroma is one of the most intense I've come across. I almost think I drank it too fresh though at 2 days after bottling. Almost needs to mellow out a touch.

I went to the release party for these two beers. Both are really good.

    bump...
This bomber of Clear AF ipa reminds me of great west coast ipa’s. Clear. Not non clear. Not haze. Clean.
Before the Clear there was the Amalgamator!
    West is still the Best.

    Same with Gotta Get It.

    Anyone try Blurred Lines yet?

Yes, it was good. Exactly as the label reads, NE/West hybrid. Softer than a WC with typical hop profile. Will seek out more, when fresh.

Decided to drop by the brewery since I haven’t been by in a few years and the beers are still solid.

Blurred Lines is fine but I feel that it could be better. Right now it’s a bit ho hum compared to stuff being cranked out at say Monkish or Highland Park.

The Grand Cru blend is mighty fine while something like B.O.B. sneaks up on you.

Clear or not clear, a brewery I could never get behind, nothing I ever drank made we want to buy another of their beers.

    Cheers,

Every brewery is not for everyone. But ESBC has its supporters which have tried their beers and continue to buy more. Personally I think their wheel house is WCIPAs. But I also enjoy when they step outside their comfort zone. As previously mentioned, Grand Cru #1 was a good example (one bottle left), of a well done BA blend.

For what its worth, ESBC is still on my buy list.
