When I got a used pot + ball valve, it had this elbow on the inside. It was pointing down, and barley had any clearance from the bottom of the pot. Why?
I see. So if I maintained a whirlpool and drained it slowly, I should get a smaller amount of material leaving the pot, and more wort?
that is a three piece valve. looks like stainless. pretty much the cats ass because you can disassemble the works for cleaning and maintenance. not cheap either. i know that is not what you were asking about, but you should know (if you didn't already) that you have bad ass plumbing on your rig.
