Electric brew kettle

    Sorry. I must have missed that. 400 bucks for a 240v is about the going rate? I think I could wire something if I just had detailed instructions for what I am exactly doing.

    Ive brewed electric only for the last 4yrs now, and it was probably one of the best changes I ever made. I have a fairly automated system now, though I started a touch simpler, for something really simple do this......,..



    I would get an Auber controller like this

    Couple it with a contactor via a switch for turning the element on and a SSR to supply power to one leg of the 240V. Be sure to have a GFCI breaker feeding the whole thing

    I would also add a L6-30P and L6-30R so you can plug the element in and also remove it from the control box

    Then cram it all in a box


    Connect it like in this exceptionally well drawn diagram

    You will also have to feed power to the PID controller (preferably fused @ 1A), and I would also likely add a 10A fuse before each switch, and a couple 30A's on the outlet to the element

    Also make sure to size all the wire properly
