This is like "What three colors would you eliminate?" or "What three primetime sports would you eliminate?" or "Out of the five best body parts on a woman, what three would you eliminate?"

My question is how many Saisons, IPA's, and Barley Wines have you tried? 'Cause any number under ten or so is not enough to write off the entire style IMO.

Can't think of a single style that I wouldn't wish to imbibe again.

Since adjunct lager and light lager are just taken as givens: blonde, tripel, rauchbier. Okay also pumpkin. C'mon, they never work.

Don't really understand it all. Why eliminate anything, it's all there because people enjoy them not everyone, everywhere, all the time enjoys the same beer.

When I get a pilsner, I am looking for something that is simple, clean, and refreshing. An "imperial pilsner" contradicts all these. The process of imperializing the brew makes it taste like an IPA/DIPA. Maybe call it an imperial lager, but imperial pilsner is an oxymoron for me.

EDIT: Sorry—this was supposed to be a response to your "why?" post.

Noted, was just curious. Have only had one beer labled, "Imperial Pilsner," which was Sam Adams Hallertauer Pilsner and it was an excellent beer. I remember it tasting crisp, sharp, and very hoppy.

I wish American brewers would stop oversaturating the shelves with APA's and American IPAs. I enjoy some of them but there is just too many out there in our country. From my personal experience, I don't think most of the population enjoys those styles all that much anyway. Most people I drink with don't prefer hoppy/bitter beers. They'll drink stouts, pilsners, lagers, hefs, even many Belgians, but put a hoppy American style in their hands and many people I drink with just don't like it. I do though.

Of course the majority don't like demanding or challenging beer. That's why bland lagers have dominate sales for so long.
