It sounds better if you (mis)pronounce Florida to sound closer to Berliner- like floREEdah Weiss

According to DDC's website they started brewing it in 1999.

Just had some Ever Weisse a few weeks back and the thought still makes my mouth water. One of the best beers of the year for me, glad I got to grab a few!

Agree on that. Had Cape Codder and Somer Weisse a few weeks ago. Great beers. Have and Ever Weisse coming next week.

I thought they already coined that term for dropping a deuce in the snow?

You may want to check Urban Dictionary for the correct definition.

Yeah I love that place. I hope Tim makes some fruited versions of Maiden sometime soon, it's the best summer beer around. Did you make it to the anniversary party today?

Pretty sure it is a Cleveland style brown ale, the serving of which involves pouring the warmed up beer on your chest.

You are spot on. I met Jonathan on Thursday in Cincinnati and tried the Miami. Really good Berliner.

Why don't we just call them American Weisse or North American Weisse, since it seems like a lot of places in North America are brewing this beer? And for those who are upset about the addition of a new style/argument for a new style, for me, personally, there is a major difference between a traditionally made Berliner Weisse and these new, bigger alcohol, fruited Weisses... A new name would just help to differentiate them from true traditional Berliner Weisses.

I'm actually really surprised that no one else has tried to do an extensive lineup of Berliners.

Yeah they put out 150 bottles of Appreciation, their wild ale with boysenberries (partially fermented with some Toronado 25th anniversary dregs?) which everyone is raving about. Can't wait to open one soon!
