Joe, thanks for that input. While I am a fan of pretzels (particularly South Philly soft pretzels) I am uncertain whether I would like this quality in my beers but in all fairness I have not really tried it. I would state that one of these days I would use S-04 to brew my Bitter Ales but frankly I am such a huge fan of 1469/Windsor the reality is that I will never try it.

Another classic example of to each their own.

    Cheers!

Came out phenomenal. As @DunkelFester suggested swapped in .5 flaked barley for some MO and dropped my OG a hair. I'll be brewing this again soon

    Thanks all and Merry Christmas

Jack, I just re-read this and considered a different interpretation. Are you suggesting Windsor is a dry yeast version of 1469?

I should have constructed the statement this way: “I am such a huge fan of 1469 and Windsor the reality is that I will never try it.”

    Cheers!

I agree with the West Yorkshire selection. I use it in my milds and bitters, gives a great touch of fruitiness. My favorite yeast by far.

I recognise that recipe. One of the most popular ones I've posted.

What did your final grist end up as? Something like this? OG and IBUs?
    Maris Otter 78%
    Crystal 120 6%
    Crystal 40 6%
    Chocolate 3%
    Flaked Barley 6%

Got this on deck for next weekend. Thanks!
