Northern Liberties IPA from Christian Moerlein isn't too shabby

Perhaps India Wharf Pale Ale? Had it once and thought it was quite nice (and a bit odd).

There are many well made American IPA's but they tend to be too "in your face" with hop bitterness for my palate. I prefer the subtlety of the English style.

Perhaps you could tell us what your favorite English IPA is and what your favorite English style IPA is.

    Cheers!

Is Timothy Taylor Landlord considered an English IPA? If so, that deserves mention here. Even if it's not considered an EIPA, it deserves mention, as it is a fantastic beer. I'd love to try it on cask....

Whatever you want to call it, it is fucking amazing. And yes - hit that on cask whenever possible

Seems like alot of the small brewers around Frederick, MD venture more into authentic English and German style brews than the new American versions. (Monocacy, Barley and Hops, Brewers Alley, Antietam, Milkhouse, Frey's etc). I had a Brewers Alley IPA on draft not too long ago and thought it was very solid and nice change of pace from the fruity/dank hop IPA's of late. I still prefer the American versions, but the English version fresh was really enjoyable. Also see alot of the small brewers locally doing light and sessionable English bitters as well.

I am also a fan of Meantime IPA. I have not had the pleasure of drinking the Kernal IPA but I will be on the look-out for it.

    Cheers!

I'd say it's a premium bitter. It is great on cask, as are the other Timothy Taylor's beers!

I suppose I will just have to add it to the list for my European Tour of 201x.

Now, if only my stupid Powerball number would hit!

    Cheers!

Ha, wasn't really aware of it. It's funny, since they don't usually seem to do a lot of seasonal things.

As of late, I've found myself going after English ales of any style over American.

Kernel IPA Mosaic is very nice but I think of it as an American style IPA, like pretty much all of his beers.
