Since you asked, I'm not really a fan of coffee in beers unless it's an adjunct in the background of a tasty stout. Sometimes it gives that kick and dirt that typical hop bitterness alone can't provide. While I'm a lover of stouts, I'd much rather have an abundance of milk, chocolate, and oatmeal rather than coffee. Too much coffee in a stout turns me off immediately.

Now, when I worked a data entry job as a temp for a few weeks, I hated getting up at 6 AM....and having a Boulevard Early Riser just made it that much easier

It's not just coffee for me. I'm just tired of stouts right now but would also add in that I'm sick of IPA's as well. It's been 90 degrees every day for over a week. All I truly want right now is a light refreshing beer of sorts. A summer type of beer. I do love IPA and I enjoyed the Epiphany I had the other day but I've been loving the Harpoon Shandy recently. It's a refreshing grapefruit beer. It's perfect for the weather that many of us are dealing with at the moment.

I love coffee, so I'm all for it. The founders Sumatra was amazing IMO.

I'm a daily coffee consumer and I was tired of the coffee-in-beer trend almost from the moment it started. Coffee in beer often does not work very well and sometimes I feel like it's a lazy way for an inadequate brewer to achieve roast notes when they are having trouble getting the profile they want purely from roasted barley.

Being in my BBT Sheldon Cooper mode (never know when it's sarcasm), the 1st thought that came to my mind was someone putting oysters in a otherwise tasty stout.

Thanks for your comment - the "used animal parts" riff was kind of a joke, but based on fact - I heard at a beer fest - but did not witness or taste - a beer that was brewed using chicken carcasses...seriously! It came from a credible source, but when you see and hear of the crazy things being done by brewers these days, I wouldn't doubt it for a second!

I'm sort of on board with the OP here. I actually LOVE coffee, and I pretty much look forward to having it every morning. But I also love beer because it tastes like beer, and not coffee. A coffee-infused beer is okay every once in a while, but if I want something that tastes like coffee, I'll just drink coffee.

I enjoy that beer, but also feel the same. Sixpoint Cream was better for me and well rounded.

I'm not a huge coffee drinker, usually only drink it in the winter (although it made getting through grad school study sessions easier), I do however enjoy most "dark" coffee beers I've had. Mostly stouts and porters, but I can see it being good in brown ales and scotch ales, maybe even quads, and wouldn't mind seeing/trying examples of those.
I haven't cared for coffee in the lighter brews, and don't care if that trend stays or goes, but give me a good dark beer with coffee, a good book/movie, snow and cold outside, and I'm a happy camper.

I don't mind them, but find I have quite a few piled up in da cellar as by the time I'm wanting a big coffee stout or something, its too bloody late in the day for coffee,
    I had a 4Beans about 9pm one night, 10%ABV and coffee , not a great memory

I actually stock an abundance of this in my fridge :

I'll be first to say this is not a shabby light beer at all. And at that price it's a no brainer. I just grab it inbetween crafts or when I don't really want anything heavy at all.

Tried the Stone Mocha IPA at a tasting and was definitely surprised how well it tasted. Didn't expect a coffee IPA to be anything decent but you never know until you try it. Have had a few different coffee IPA's since and there are some good and some bad.

Craft beer is also about experimenting and I would much rather have coffee in my beer than the fruit variety so I'm all for more coffee beers. If I want a fruit, I'll go eat a fruit, keep it out of my beer!!!

    Coffee in beer, YES!
