I read that Epic Brewing out of Utah is distributing to SoCal now. I have seen their beers on tap at some bars but does anyone know if they plan on sending bottles too?
We opened a sour apple saison at a tasting this week. Definitely worthy. I did not purchase them here, but a friend purchased them in AZ.
My buddy just grab a whole bunch of them from the Provisions in Orange. I guess they had 11 different versions. As a former SLC kid I'm excited to see them around my parts
just heard via facebook that whole foods glendale has the following epic in stock: We have the following in stock: -Brainless on Peaches -Smoked & Oaked -Big Bad Baptist Imperial Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout -Imperial IPA -Hopulent IPA -Copper Cone http://www.facebook.com/WFMglendalebeer
The Encinitas Ale House & The Public House La Jolla are carrying seven different bottles and 8 different drafts coming soon.
Just had that Big Bad Baptist at 38 Degrees in Alhambra for their BA 3rd Anniv. event this Saturday - it was the surprise highlight of my 6 beer flight (and there was some hefty competition). Suffice to say, I will be hunting this down if and wherever I find it around LA. Just amazing.
+1 from me on Big Bad Baptist. Tasted like a Nestle Crunch bar...with whiskey! haha, I mean that in a good way. Also of note, (as I'm sure many have seen as well) bottles from Epic hit shelves pretty aggresively around SoCal. Seems their entire product line could be found at Total Wines.
+2 for me on Big Bad Baptist as well. I also tried it at 38 Degrees this past Saturday and really enjoyed it. I wasn't as excited by Brainless on Peach, but still, a pretty solid brewery.
Vendome Toluca Lake has had these for months... My Favorites: Big bad baptist, Elder Brett, Imperial IPA, Utah Sage Saison, Green Apple Saison haven't had the Brainless series but here they are quite good.
+3 for BB Baptist Visited Epic in Dec last year during a ski trip & I remember them saying distro would hit CA in due time, lo' & behold it did. Just tried the BB Baptist @ 38 degrees & shined like a star above the boozy Parabola. Cannot wait for it's reappearance!
Elder Brett is by far my favorite Saison-Brett. Incredible beer. I brought a couple of bottles back from Oregon with me a few weeks ago. I hope the make it to NorCal soon!
