This 100%...I like them both, but DL has a much better variety, along with plenty of lower abv options, which Tin Barn does not.

Both DL and Tin Barn are great, though I'm preferential to DL and the variety. Plus, Tin Barn is very often packed to the gills, to the point where people are parking quite unconventionally in non-parking areas and the brewery encourages carpooling on the daily. They have a full kitchen with BBQ, pizza oven, etc. in addition to stuff like beer slushies, so that attracts a lot of full families, as opposed to the quainter beer-focused setting of DL. Both breweries will def continue to rise and grow though.

I've tried to go to Tin Barn four times (no beer releases on any of those days), and three of those times there literally wasn't a single parking spot available despite the large space, so we had to turn around. Good thing Drowned Lands and so many other options are so close and always have parking/space. Tin Barn may have to consider expanding already haha.

Apart from Equilibrium almost 30min away, Tin Barn is the only brewery around with a full kitchen, so I imagine it's the go-to for anyone wanting to combine a brewery trip with family times.

@Mineo when was the last time that you went? I was just at Tin Barn today and had no problem finding parking. They now have an overflow lot as well as parking around back by the outdoor area.

Last time I was there was mid-August. The three crowded times for me was a Friday in late July and two Saturdays in August. A bunch of cars were parked on the incline/grass (heading down the hill from the entrance) and multiple cars circling in the parking lot looking for spots. Summer ending and that overflow lot definitely helps

Went to EQ yesterday. Overall very pleased with the IPAs. Took home 3 cans: greenstone, dhop36, and uncorked. Zero problems with oxidation. Made sure they stayed cold - bought a little cooler with ice.

Dhop36: a citra bomb. This one Is the most melon forward. And the sweetest finish. Also sugarcane, peach, and orange. I personally liked this better than OH ACE I had recently.

greenstone: a green pepper bomb. Dank with some dried mango. A tiny bit of melon comes out the more you drink and as it warms.

Uncorked: Nelson bomb. Very good. Not very sweet (average for NEDIPA). I got no melon. There was some sediment and floaties at the bottom of the can, so decant carefully.

On draft I had fractal Nelson, astrophysics, and double fractal dragon curve.

fractal Nelson was very good. Wish I bought a 4 pack. Just a Nelson bomb and on their drier side.

astrophysics was good. Their galaxy is very unique. I got some of the purple fruit or purple drink/grape soda notes I get out of some of the more obscure southern hemi hops, like rakau and moutere. Some of that green eucalyptus-ness too.

double fractal dragon curve was an enigma bomb. Red berries and vinous. I enjoyed it.

Having another dhop36 now. This beer slaps. Getting more of the Idaho 7 today. That pungent tropical fruit is really coming through. The mosaic must be displaying more of its orange-colored fruit profile and melding nicely with the Idaho.

I'm traveling from Albany, NY next month back to NYC. I was hoping to hit EQ. After reading this entire thread, I'm catching the drift that their beers are over priced for what I'm getting. If it is, aside from Drowned Lands, what else is good around this area? Or is my assumption incorrect, and I should absolutely purchase a variety of 4-packs from EQ?? I'm an IPA guy, but also love good pilsners.

Suarez and district 96 are the best lagers and NEIPAs respectively in the area. Tin barn also has solid NEIPA. I'm too lazy to look at your route but yeah D96 and Suarez I think are a level above the others for their particular specialties.

Now if you want pastry stouts/BBA stouts EQ is your place.
To be fair Suarez is only opened though for curbside limited hrs.

Equilibrium has some good IPAs, especially if grabbing fresh from the brewery (so not overpaying marked up retail prices), but they can be a little more hit or miss than I'd like. Some are WAY too "melony" for my taste. The brewery itself has kick-ass BBQ.

If you're hitting Drowned Lands for IPAs, then definitely hit Tin Barn too, it's <10 minutes away. Rushing Duck is nearby too if you want a bit more of a variety.

District 96 a little closer to NYC is a must stop for IPAs, and their pilsners fly under the radar, not to mention if you didn't get BBQ at Equilibrium then this a must stop for a burger. For more IPAs, could stop at Two Villains if taking the Tappan Zee or Brix City if taking the George / tunnels.

You'll also get mentions for Suarez, they are the best around for lagers and farmhouse ales, etc., though no IPAs. They're on the wrong side of the river as the rest, so depends on how much time you are looking to spend on the road / how much trunk space you have for beer! Though to be fair most of these breweries will be a little bit of a detour from the straight shot to the city. Enjoy!

Are you using the website or the app? I've had way better luck using the app and so far haven't missed on any bottles that I've tried to get. FWIW today's bottle sold out stupidly fast.

Both lol...yeah today sold out in like 15 seconds. By the time I clicked Checkout I got Event Unavailable. Kept going back in for next 20 minutes and still Event Unavailable every time I hit Checkout (happened like 6 times, same as all other drops). BA bottles have been insane ever since BA LADS, I haven't landed any since before that but usually had the chance to try them at shares. Not sure if its my internet or what

My method has been to get on the app at 8:59 and just spam refresh until it goes live. Once i get it in cart and I get to payment I take my time to make sure everything is correct for checkout. This method has worked for every 1 PP bottle that I've gone for including BA Graceland and BA Swiss Bliss Royale. You sound like someone that actually wants to drink the beer and not some shitty reseller so I hope you figure out a way that works. I understand very well how frustrating Eventbrite can be.

Yeah I have the same method, for some reason though it never says available until a few seconds after 9am, or even close to a minute sometimes (9:03 for BA LADS for some weird reason). Guessing I just have shitty internet, maybe I'll try ethernet. Desparation is on now that I'm too far to go to shares regularly haha.

Thanks man, hope you keep your streak going for LADSvember

I'm swinging by EQ later to pick up a bottle, and I want to grab a few 4 packs. Does anyone have any recommendations on what's good? They have 20+ cans available granted some of them appear to be well over 1 month old.

Looks like LADS is still popular among the masses. Batch 3 was an Instant sellout!!

Whelp, my strikeout streak with LADS continues. Anyone have any insight to what the in person retail sales might be like on Saturday morning?

Anyone attempt the BA LADS b2 eventbrite sale this morning? Did anyone successfully secure a bottle?
