This guy’s services will be scooped up by another brewery in very short order.

Sorry for Salazar and sorry their wild ale program is on hold, but as a DC area dweller good to hear their DC brewery is being given such heavy focus.

The consulting idea sounds exciting for Eric. There are several area breweries primed to soar, especially with this kind of talent and industry prominence available. And even a recently closed brewery. A true free radical on the loose. And it really is a beautiful place to live.

As someone who grew up in upstate New York, I can say the area's beauty doesn't hold a candle to Colorado.

don't want to sound overly cynical but it seems like they started making IPAs up there and fell for the "why would we do anything else" trap after I'm sure they've been selling out consistently

That sounds about right to me. I think their ideal customer just wants to collect all of the NEIPAs they can. Why bother making anything else?

If that’s the case, why have the ROC leftovers been making their way to Brooklyn the following week when they don’t sell out?

Are we sure that’s why? Or is this just like a reciprocal thing so that the customers at both locations get a pop at beers from both breweries. Just mentioning since beers head the other direction too, and if they stayed in Brooklyn they’d sell out no problem.

Regarding the broader point of this thread - I mean they’re a business, and their core competency (whether you like it or not) is the NEIPA, and their first priority should be to get up and running and generate $. What’s odd to me is that they ever contemplated the Salazar angle so soon to begin with.
