I'm one of the few NB fans here but a sour?....I'm out. Love that Portage porter though!

Yeah, sours are not my thing either, so I'm out too, but I agree that Portage was a really excellent porter. hopefully it becomes a year round offering from NB!

My first name is Eric...I might have to negotiate a trade since I live in one of the scant states outside of NB's radius.

Funny, I think NB's sours are the best thing they do! La Folie/Le Terroir are fantastic annual releases, and if you ever get a chance at the keg-only stuff like Cherry Felix or Blackberry Oscar, man, those are some legit brews.

    Also, Eric's Ale sounds awesome!

Eric's Ale is the best beer New Belgium has ever made - seriously. The hype is 100% real.

Agreed. I threw up in my mouth a little with laughter when someone ruled out a New Belgium beer because it was a sour. To me, their sours are their best beers, and the only ones I'd go out of my way to buy.

Eric's Ale was the very first sour I ever tried and I've been hooked ever since. I'm glad this release is a reality.

In the thread about NB suing Oasis Brewing, someone asked whatever NB rep that was participating in the thread if Eric's Ale would be coming back and the rep hinted that it would.

I've asked them about it several times and have been told that they plan to release it again someday, but nobody has ever given me a clear answer when.
At one time that beer was on permanent rotation at Falling Rock and the NB brewery. You could even get growler fills of it.

I remember reading the press release awhile back when NB announced the doubling of their oak beer capacity. I couldn't find the actual release on their website but here's an article quoting it that confirms NB "will use this expansion to bring Lips of Faith offerings like Tart Lychee and Eric’s Ale into year round production by 2015.

Still have old Eric's for side-by-side tasting! Boom. Also, how could you not be excited about the O.G. Lips of Faith (even if you aren't a sour person)?!

That's kind of a shame, the best NB beers are their sours.

Eric's Ale and cork/cage La Folie were the best

Not to invade/intrude on this thread, but are there any C&C La Folie "vintages" that are considered better or worse typically?

I had my 2 pints of it at Choice City. Marvelous stuff.

When Domingo makes those type of claims I listen. Haven't had this beer yet but I want it.

So pumped for this. I heard talks(at the brewery) of opening a new facility that is dedicated only to sours, and that they wouldent be pasteurizing sour beers at this place... any one if that is still happening?
