The point of the challenges in Brew Dogs is to make the quintessential beer in the place where they brew. I like that aspect of it. The "Craft Beer Virgins" and "Beer School" bits are sort of annoying though and they explain stuff in such a patronizing way, but I guess they're trying to make it interesting for the average person. There really should be a show that's aimed to the experienced beer drinker, but I guess that's what youtube videos are for.

I personally think shows can be both entertaining and informational. Even while appealing to the typical Esquire viewer.

I actually enjoy both shows. I recently just watched the season premiere of both Brew Dogs (Season 3) and Best Bars in America (Season 2). Comcast had both of them On-Demand before the official prime time premieres. They keep me entertained throughout the episodes each time.

I thought tonight's episode of Brew Dogs was the best one yet. They cut out most of the nonsense, introduced me to a couple of Belgian brewers i wasnt familiar with and I learned the correct way to pronounce Cantilion. Can't ask for more than that.
However, I would have preferred they spent the hour around the table tasting and discussing the beers they were drinking
