Etiquette for providing negative beer tasting comments

    I would tell them that they are not as good as Hill Farmstead and should quit trying, then berate them for wasting my time and precious palate :wink:.

    My negative feedback is usually "eh, it's not for me." Taste is subjective and I'm not going to say there's something wrong with the beer unless its got fundamental flaws.

    If they pressed me on it, I'd say why I didn't like it, but it's up to them to solicit the feedback if they want to improve. I don't want to shove my feedback down their throat if they don't want to hear it. And even then, my feedback would be caveated with "but that's just me."

    Haha. "Have you thought about changing the late hop addition to use more citra? I'm a homebrewer and find it really brings out the overripe ugli fruit flavor in my IPAs"
