    Hi there,

I'll be in Europe for Easter and was wondering if there are any breweries which would be open and worth a visit in the period of 17-21 April this year. Am open to visiting Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark or Czech.

Let me know if you have suggestions on whether to go for that period even for festivities and such - am studying but have a short break then.

    Thanks!

There are lots of breweries to visit, the only thing is perhaps how to get there. Will you be traveling by car or train ?

That would be giving you lots of options. Perhaps if you narrow down your search or give an idea of what cities you might be visiting we can help you.

Czesc, friend. I would not recommend those beers to travelers going to Poland specifically looking for craft beers. Some of those beers are the equivalent of Budweiser/Miller/Coors here in the US, while others are closer to the average German lager beers. I actually like Zubr myself, but there are bars in cities around Poland that serve micro/craft beers from around Poland as well as Lithuania and Latvia. Here's the list: http://www.beerpubs.com/?page=browse_pubs&p_count=100 (I've been to Gospoda Szwejka in Bialystok and the House of Beer in Krakow is well-known).

Also, some supermarkets sell small Polish brewery beers worth trying. I found some decent beers, but can't remember names.

    Cheers!

Ciechan Midowe. Pivo jest bardzo dobje! It's a lager with honey. The honey flavor is pretty intense and it's not hoppy. Probably rates low regarding IBUs. Last summer the Ciechan had a pop-up beer garden in the middle of Warsaw, near the penis, or whatever the locals call the building that Russia gave it. It was near the train station and the Marriot. The beer was on draft. Friggin amazing.

I've also found it at stores in Radom and Krakow. Na zdrowia!

Ahhhh...Ciechan Midowe...I remember that beer! I also remember that I thought it was bland and sweet :slight_frown: I'm not a fan of honey-brewed beers, though. This is why I didn't like really fresh Hopslam or the Tired Hands triple IPA.

Yeah it drinks more like a juice. Not hoppy or malty. Just there with a lot of honey.

Do you know of anything like Miodowe that can be found here?

I haven't it in a really long time, but I'm thinking maybe Honey Brown? That's a red lager with honey.

Most breweries are pretty similar. If you only have a few days, spend your time in bars, pubs and cafés instead, you'll get more beer culture there.
