I am meeting with distributors today to figure out a bottle/tap selection for a new European Cafe that is opening up in my area. Any good suggestions? It is a French inspired cafe, but the owner wants any European beers, as French craft beer is somewhat difficult to come by here.

Any help would be great thanks!

I would say you should definitely have Saison Dupont on tap, that'd be phenomenal.

My suggestion is to follow the lead of a good Belgian style pub that is successful here in the States. For example, check Monk's Cafe in Philly. Their bottle and tap selection is spot on. You can tweak it any way you like from there.

Go with Belgians. They're not uncommon in France, so they'd be authentic and practical. You don't have to go overboard either. Common items like Affligem, Chimay, and Leffe can work.
Toss in some pilsners (Kronenbourg, Urquell, Bitburger, Calrsberg, etc.), a hefe, and maybe some standards like Bass and Guinness.

I wouldnt forget some German stuff like Warsteiner, Bitburger, and Franziskaner. Ive also seen Schneider on tap (which would be ideal). Peroni, Moretti La Rossa, and even Old Peculier is another good choice. St Bernardus is also a necessity.

Others: Guinness, Bass, Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout, Ayinger, Birra Moretti, any trappist beer.
