My girlfriend spilled an entire snifter of Bolt Cutter. Not super rare, but only brewed once (and expensive)!

While waiting in line at the 2012 Dark Lord Day, I dropped the pour of Cigar City Hunahpu I was generously given. By some miracle, the glass landed on its bottom and did not break; however, that did not stop the beer from splashing all over my legs thus earning me the nickname of "Hunapants". All in all, it was still a great day!

A bottle of Only Void breaking into a gigantic mess all over my dining room floor, table and walls.

Remember that they were limit 1 per person.

Not actual beer, but just dropped my prized over-sized Southampton snifter. Yeah, it hurt a little...

Not my own personal horror story, but one that horrified me nonetheless.

About this time last year, I got word that Cantillon was about to hit shelves in MN. I have a good relationship with a handful of stores, and was assured that I would get a chance for a couple of bottles. When their allocations came in a few days later, they each got only a single case. Each reported the same cause: When the importer was transferring the shipment to the distributor, a pallet of loons was dropped.

I have no way of knowing whether this was true. I know it's the story told to stores by the distributor. And now that Shelton Brothers no longer have a distributor in MN, I know my chances of getting any more in the near future are quite slim.

I had a friend get the last glass of pliny from a sixtel. he had never had it. I don't know which was faster. the amount of time it took him to knock it over as soon as the glass touched the bar, or the amount of time it took him to dive over the bar, grab a bar rag and soak up every drop. he then proceeded to ring out the rag into the glass and finished the whole pint. A for Effort!!!!

I was trying to make that "single trip" from my car to front door with all of my groceries and a 4 pack of Devil Dancer. Of course I dropped the four pack onto the concrete, but all of the groceries were safe & sound.

Broke the neck off a bottle of Ithaca Le Blue while trying to open it with a Swiss Army knife corkscrew.
The neck broke into shards, not a clean break, so I couldn't save any.
And I was opening it to share with other BA volunteers after clean up at a Belgian Beer Fest a couple of years ago.
    Best smelling drain pour ever...

Didn't break the bottle but I was moving some bottles around on my cellular shelf and reached behind my bottle of rebel yell eclipse pulled my hand back and knocked it off the shelf it did like half a flip and was about a foot off the ground when I caught it. The ground is concrete in my basement where my beer is. I have never felt so releaved.

My father in law dropped one of my bottles of KBS in his garage, shattering it. I also saw a friend drop a bottle of Central Waters fifteen at the brewery party. Tragic fails

Never had a rare beer, so it's not a problem. I once had a bottle of Chimay Red gush absolutely everywhere. That was a pain to clean up.

After a late night of driving to Indy to pick up my Sour Reserve #3 at Upland, I was hauling it in to my kitchen with a few others things in my arms and it slipped out and hit the floor. While it was falling I was thinking to myself about driving almost 10 hours round trip to pick up one bottle only to drop the bottle and have it shatter. Amazingly (but probably due to those thick wine style bottles Upland uses) the bottle didn't break. Also, it was fucking delicious, so ISO.

Got a growler of Vietnamese Speedway once. I was a bit inebriated by the time we got around to opening it. A guy who was attending our tasting for the first time raised his glass up over his head and towards me to say "cheers", but I didn't see the glass in his hand and thought he wanted a high 5. I spiked a CCB snifter full of VS right into the wall. I ended up having to split my pour with him. Man..that shit was everywhere. I still find little spots on the wall or on the ice maker, or any other number of places where there's still residual left over from that disaster...including little shards of snifter.

If you are referring to breakfast stout, I can attest to that. I always like to try things at least once, including aging beers that might not be best aged. I opened a '10, '11, and '12 this morning and the first two were way beyond their prime. The '12 was enjoyable with my pancakes, but won't bother aging this one again.

I had #2 in my suitcase for a Thanksgiving trip a few years ago. I didnt realize that my suitcase wasnt zipped until I heard the glass hit the concrete.

At this years Huna Day I saw guy get his case of Huna, he picked the box up off the table and the bottom fell out. Only 1 or 2 bottles broke. It could have been worse.

Had a growler of Town Hall wheat wine break on the floor of my passenger side in my car. Took about 200 paper towels to soak up, and my car smelled like a brewery for a couple of months. IE, I was REAL careful not to get pulled over for a while.
