I recently opened a JK rose with hopes of splitting it with my wife. She had a couple of sips and that was all she could manage. I didn't find that it killed my palate to drink it all and the relatively low abv made it easy to take down.

I'm pretty much the only one in my usual drinking group that like sours, so I pretty frequently polish off 750/22s of sours. Dissident, Sour in the Rye, La Folie, Oude Tart, Duchesse de Bourgogne...

Does Goose Island Sofie count? If so, just did ...

Just finished a night shift somerweiss. If it's not in your wheelhouse, share or avoid.

Yes. Sour in the Rye was tough to get through. To me, it was the most uncompromisingly sour beer I've ever had.

I agree. It's a serious problem that no one is addressing

Last one was a 750 of Rodenbach Caractère Rouge. Absolutely delish.

Huh? Um, yes. For me, the first glass is about tasting the beer; the rest of the bottle is about enjoying the beer.

I dominated a sour bomber earlier and backed it up with a Stone Ruination followed by a White Russian.

All the time. I drank a 64oz growler of '14 La Folie by myself. No problems here. Try eating a snack or appetizer between glasses. That's what I do when I solo something most of the time. Rejuvenate the palate. Drink a full glass. Eat a mini Cuban sandwich or meat/cheese plate for example. Finish the bottle. Works like a charm.

No, I barely finished a 375 ml of Supplication. The vinegar flavor was really strong, I don't dig sours!

That was me for decades. Then it wasn't. In truth, though, the only time I had sour beer induced indigestion was after last year's WHERE THE WILD BEERS ARE, at which I probably drank the equivalent of 2-3 bombers of sour beers. And maybe then I got indigestion because I went home and tried to sleep. I might have tolerated it better upright and/or with food.

I'm 31, and I've never gotten heartburn from sour or acidic things. Beer or otherwise. And my diet sucks!

Edit: Cheap, fast food "spicy chicken" does tend to give me hearburn, though.
