Ever lose a batch to Bees?

    I'm not ready for children either but unfortunately have a couple. The older one just got his MBA from George Washington University, so hopefully he can take care of the rest of us as we age...

    I apologize, I am confusing you with another VT homebrewer who is involved in the "can you clone it" homebrew exchange. He drives a firetruck.

    That's telejunkie. I think he's made 2 clone attempts.

    I wouldn't worry. I make meads without boiling the honey. I can't imagine bees would carry anything that wouldn't be in raw honey.

    I have had bees swarm me while brewing. Best way I got rid of them is to smoke a cigar while brewing.

    Yellow jackets can be a problem, yes. I have 60,000 bees within 60 feet of my brew kettle and they never seem to come near it, maybe it's the heat. My hummingbird feeders on the other hand, can't keep them away.
