I've never gone on a trip just to try beer (although I would love to go to a beer tasting festival!), but I have travelled to many countries and US states, and trying beers is one of the finest things about travel. It creates an enriching experience and makes the trip more interesting. There is nothing like sitting in a funky/eclectic café in Indonesia with a local Bintang or Bali Hai, or hanging out in the French Quarter in Hanoi drinking a Huda or Hanoi beer. These aren't the best beers, but they are great when in country watching the foreign world wiz by.

Planning a trip to Austin to get my hands on some Live Oak. Also wouldn't mind checking out some Jester King while I'm nearby.

Absolutely not. I've better things to do if I'm on vacation than go hunting around whatever town's liquor stores. If I try something at the bar or I'm in a state I know gets distro, I'll definitely but something, but I'm not staying overnight at a hotel just to hunt down booze.

Not a whole vacation yet, but week ends are many times for going to breweries or beer bars within 1 1/2 hours of home.

Draughthouse, Banger's, Hops and Grain...an underrated beer town. I definitely take it for granted...

Took a vacation to the UK then spur of the moment me and my wife decided to take a train to Brussels for a few days so I could hunt down some Westvleteren 12, and visit Cantillon.

I always try to make a brewery visit one of the activities of vacation. It's my part, we try to let everyone pick something they want to do as well, but the brewery or distillery visit are what I shoot for.

Hell yes! We've made 3 or 4 trips to London just for the GBBF. Of course my wife makes me do other stuff while we're there...

Here´s one that´s worth a plane ride: Barcelona Beer Festival. This year it´s in the Maritime museum and runs for 3 days in April. Over 300 beers on tap last year, including a bunch from Cantillon.

My wife & I do this often, sometimes we even plan a group vacation for just this reason with friends. We've done weekenders to different parts of PA to see Troegs, Boxcar, Tired Hands and others. Maryland's Eastern Shore for Burley Oak (multiple times), Tall Tales, Shorebilly.

And the big upcoming trip planned for Boston & EBF 2014!

I've never vacationed to try a particular beer but for the past 8-10 years pretty much all my vacations have been centered around the beers of a region or country(visiting my family in Bama doesn't count as a vacation). My wife and I have traveled to Germany and Belgium several times, the past 3 years we've been going to Maine and New Hampshire. Hopefully life will allow us to hit the Pacific Northwest soon.
But we spend very little time actually drinking, we've learned that places with good beer tend to have lots of interesting culture to experience so drinking usually waits til later in the day.

The only way I'd be able to spend any time in Tampa is by drinking a lot.

Been there. If I must spend any time in FLA, it's going to be in the Keys. The rest is too depressing, in an endless sea of strip mall way.

Flown to FL to hit Cigar City, Peg’s Cantina.

Flown to Chicago to hit Goose Island, drove to Indiana from there to hit Three Floyds, drove from there to do Founders and Bell’s

Flown to Squaw Valley CA to ski and do 50 50 Brewing, Russian River, and Lagunitas.

Flown to San Diego for Beer Week and Alpine, Society, Green Flash, Churchill’s, Pizza port, Port Brewing, Lost Abbey, Ballast point, stone, alesmith, toronado… ect ect lol

Flown to Denver for skiing/Avery/Great Divide/falling rock taphouse

I dont really consider the VT - HF, HT, Lawson's trip a vacation since it's only a 3.5 hour ride... but if it is then probably 15-20 VT weekend ski/hiking/beer "vacations".

A Selin's Grove vacation in PA - main objective was the Selin's Grove pumpkin. Took side trips to Troegs(amazing food), Pizza Boy Brewing(I think they had 100 beers on tap... cool place), and spring house brewery.

4 or 5 Philly trips - with side breweries like Stoudts, Victory, and of course hitting Abe's cold beer on the way.

Planning on Flying to Oregon/Washington early 2014 for Deschutes ect.

I'm slacking on my international beer travel.

Stayed in Holland, MI to go to New Holland Brewing. and a Founders Takeover the same night to taste KBS for the first time. ended up not even getting any KBS and was the main reason for going out there. But New Holland was a great brewery. Don't regret it at all.

I didn't go to SF specifically to try a beer (we already planned to go), but while I was there and while we had a rental car for a day or two, I used it to drink Framboise for a Cure on tap at RR.
