For me it was Abraxas, it was definitely good but did not blow my mind.

I might even say the same about BASC.

Maybe my expectations were just too high/hyped before trying them?

It used to be excellent. I had it on draft in Ireland in 1980. However, that was pre-revolution.

Most of the time it's the Alpine hoppy beers. The recent GF brewed versions are sometimes wonderful and sometimes flashbacks to the older ones. I keep going back to them as the good ones are REALLY good, but I hate them about 1/2 the time.

    Cool thread.

I have to go with pretty much any MBC offering except Another One (which I absolutely love) and King Titus (which I enjoyed). To be fair, most of the bottled stuff I've had (Peeper, Mo, Weez, Zoe) hasn't been fresh (probably a month old or more), but I haven't loved any of them, and I had fresh Lunch on tap and was really underwhelmed.

I also don't get the Scuplin hype, and enjoy Grapefruit and Habenero more than the original.

Finally, KBS isn't all I thought it would be. I've only had it this year, but it was so boozy and I was actually getting kind of sick of it by the end.

Three Philosophers - Tried it once a while ago, too sweet/syrupy. Maybe I just wasn't ready for it, or maybe I'm just not into cherry flavors in beers or dark belgians in general.

    Step 1. Buy Vanilla Vodka
Step 2. Buy good root beer
Step 3. Save time money and effort.

I had Substance from Bissel Brothers over the weekend. Good just not one to live up to the hype.

I gave Lunch it's fair shake three times now. I will say on tap it's pretty good, but nothing I'd drop coin on again.

There's a few that I dislike that some I know seems to enjoy, there's some that I enjoy that some dislike. I'll keep this list at a humble level.

    1. Heady Topper.
    2. Founders Breakfast Stout
    3. KBS
    4. Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout
    5. Zombie Dust (pretty much anything I've had from 3Floyds I haven't been much of a fan)
    6. Victory at Sea
    7. Two Hearted
    8. Double Simcoe
    9. Lunch
    10. Vanilla Shake
    11. Black Albert
    12. Westbrook Gose
I'm sure there's more, but at the moment this is what I'm sticking to.

*If I have offended some, I apologize. I respect your opinion if you enjoy a beer that I do not enjoy, just hopefully you can respect mine.

I am baffled by the resurgence of the gose style. How can a salty drink be marketed and received as being "refreshing"? Taste like ocean water to me.

Pliny the Elder...Don't know if it was the hype and myself wanting it so badly. Also, maybe my taste is set more toward the NE beers (Heady, SOS, Dinner, etc.). It was OK, but not one I'd run out to get. Still would like to try a draft.

Founders Blushing Monk...Meh! Couldn't get much down. Dumped most of it.

Bourbon County Stout. I like bourbon and I like imperial stout, but when I want bourbon I'll drink bourbon. I'm not a big fan of beer bourbon barrel aged.

Two Hearted for me, and I'll take it a step further and say Bells in general. I just don't understand the love that most people have for Two Hearted. Hopslam is pretty good, but the hype and price point for that beer are killers. Their Planets Series is disappointing (Saturn was actually awesome, but Venus was the worst beer I've ever had). And don't even get me started on Oberon.

Sucks, it's pretty good but I don't get the hype
    Palo Santo Maron, disgusting
