Yes I am one of those San Antonio people who would finish a keg of KBS, you know if I HAD too. I do realize San Antonio gets forgot about and is a smaller beer market, which kinda sucks but still has its perks, like Whiskey Rodeo sitting on the sales floor 3 months after the release or not waiting in any line for Bishops Barrel releases. That being said I am excited about Founders being released here, especially since we get no FW or Ballast Point yet.

This was NOT in Texas - This was in Cleveland, OH.

Did anyone read the post on FB where the guy was accusing Founder's of watering down their beer just because they have expanded their distribution to Texas? What a F-ing joke, some people are ridiculous.

They are pretty pissed off up there.

They're probably just bitter about that "winter" phenomenon I read about.

Also, believe it or not: some people hate Texas.

Maybe its my lack of exposure to founders, but I just don't see obtaining kbs as being something hard to do. Most of the hard-to-get releases have been local breweries that the general public follows on fb. But after all the hype around goose island and its still sitting places I just don't see this being hard to get. Maybe this first release with all the hoarders and "case" addicts, but after that it should be easy.

New breweries coming to TX only rile up the beer advocate people. If KBS went to Specs downtown right now and they limited it to a 4 pack, I bet it would stick around for a day or 2. The amount of people excited about this compared to a Saint Arnold DR release is tiny.

This would be like Abyss but worse. KBS is a much better beer.

Hopefully with more breweries coming here, more of the limited stuff that we've been getting will be on shelves longer. I don't care much about KBS or BCBS.

You think so(no sarcasm)? Obviously abyss was tough with only a few cases making it to Houston. I guess, if we don't get kbs in bottles this year, and there is a year of chatter about it for next it could be a little more tough. I don't know, I just don't seem as excited about this as other local releases. Also, I feel like KBS is a lot more abundant up north, so trading for it isn't all that difficult. Whereas abyss was extremely limited and you need a first born to get it.

They make a lot more of it then what most TX brewers make but its also spread out all over the place.

KBS is so good. It blows alAbyss out of the water IMHO. I think it would sell very quickly!

With kbs vs abyss its the packaging that sells it for me. When I see abyss as a single I feel like I need at least 2-3 of them, so that leaves less for the next person. With KBS being in 4pks I'll more than likely just grab 1(4pk) leaving much more for everyone else. I don't imagine I'm the only one with this rationale, so that would me there would be more to go around.

    I Agree with Dan --

It dropped in KC yesterday, and most stores only got a case or two, which promptly sold out within minutes -- using a one bottle limit. If you were able to hit two stores and grab two 12 oz bottles you considered yourself lucky. I was planning on sending my brother out to snag me some, but didn't want him driving all over town with the hopes of possiblly lucking into a single 12 oz bottle - not worth his time.

I imagine it will be hard as hell to get your hands on when it comes to TX, especially if you work a 9 to 5 and can't run around town when deliveries are being made in the AM. There is hope I suppose, as I think next years batch of KBS will be larger in quantity.

Just because Parabola and Abyss sit on the West Coast, and BCBS and KBS can be found ipn shelves in the Midwest/Northeast, doesn't mean any of them will be particularly easy to get your hands on in TX; especially for the first couple years of releases, as everyone is so hyped to get their hands on them. Judging by how fast these beers go in KC after years of distribution, I am not overly optimistic about getting many hands on many bottles when they're released in TX.

All of the Goose Island beers to hit TX so far have been ones that are readily available up north. Just wait till BCBS, not to mention all the different types of BCBS. Goose Island also has a larger brewing capacity than Founders.

KBS is the shit, btw, but Backwoods Bastard is my favorite Founders beer. Although Double Trouble is pretty great--I was drinking Double Trouble side-by-side with Hopslam last year and enjoyed them both equally.

KBS sells out faster than Abyss in areas of the country that get both.. Learned this interesting fact after trying to trade some Abyss for KBS. Both are wonderful beers, but I'd choose KBS over Abyss 12 out of 10 times..

Just to get in on the KBS v Abyss discussion...Fresh KBS over fresh Abyss. With a year or two Abyss. KBS does not age well IMO, and Abyss really shines if enjoyed after the best after date.
