So which American breweries currently making spontaneously fermented beer with a coolship? I know for sure Russian River and Allagash. Who else?

New Glarus spontaneously ferments with a number of their beers as well.

LOL. I guess a Texas brewery getting a coolship is not cool enough or news worthy for BA.

Lutter news at 3AM... Jeff has posted on Twitter that the coolship has been filled once again tonight.

There's much coolshippery going on over there.

We now rejoin our BA coverage already in progress.

I noticed that too, and would like to know why. There was no cursing or inappropriate behavior in it. Maybe move it, but I dont get just deleting it.

I don't have time to read 57 pags of this but I have a question. I drank a bottle of Sour Saison last night and loved it, BUT, will it get more sour over time? To me it had a very light sour/funk flavor.

Yep. Although it might also get more funky than tart if you are talking about Das Wunderkind.

Has anyone opened a Batch 1 Wunderkind recently? What's been going on with it?

I felt it was a positive, constructive thread with a lot of questions being answered for people who aren't as familiar with JK as we are. I remember seeing Todd in a video at Allagash when they launched their coolship...seems like a topic of interest. Who knows.....

I was glad you posted the article in the Beer News section. I don't expect people from all over the country to check the SW forums. I certainly don't check the other regions very often unless I'm traveling. Damn censorship...

Das überkind is a more more tart version of it, with I believe only the base barrel aged beer

I contemplated posting something as well, but the fine print at the top of the Beer News dissuaded me. I agree with posting it in that section though, there seems to only be a handful of US breweries that are using coolships right now.

In our experience, Das Wudnerkind will not get significantly more sour in the bottle.

i agree, in my experience sours in general dont tend to get more sour as they age, unless they were released prematurely.
