I sure advertising Kopi Luwak and putting in Vietnemese coffee would piss the TABC off.

So was there a first batch of Weasel Rodeo that was tap/draft only before Jester King released the second batch of Weasel Rodeo that was just bottled/released? Or is the Weasel Rodeo that was just bottled/released the first batch?

Because JK clearly states "THE FIRST BATCH OF WEASEL RODEO DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY KOPI LUWAK (WEASEL COFFEE)."

You misread. The first batch didn't (back in April). The batch that came out last week does have the poop coffee, as well as some in the Whiskey.

For clarity, Beer Geek Rodeo did not have "weasel" coffee beans, Weasel Rodeo and Whiskey Rodeo do. Having said that, all three are beautifully crafted beers in their own right. And all three stand up well against any in a comparable style, such as Mikkeller's Beer Geek Brunch Weasel and any derivations thereof. Most know, this series was done in collaboration with Mikkel. If you've met or seen a picture of Mikkel, you will surely recognize Josh's rendition in the Weasel Rodeo label. Great job there, by the way!

Thanks to Jeff, Ron, and Jordan for the wonderful beer!

I still have to drive an hour. And at that price it's like I went out if town. And I rather go top Austin and buy a variety than 2 bottles of one jk beer at 50 bucks.

2 and a half hr drive for me. Its way easier to trade for JK with my Cali trade partners.

So if I just bought a bottle of weasel does it have the beans in it or not?

And on the JK website the rodeo series beers say the are suitable for vegetarians. What is that supposed to mean?

Its a tongue-in-cheek comment about the Beer Geek Rodeo, which doesnt have the Kopi Luwak coffee in it, and therefore has had no contact with animals.

Beer Geek Rodeo has no weasel coffee. Weasel Rodeo and Whiskey Rodeo both DO have the weasel coffee in them.

Meaning.. that vegetarians would get upset for us drinking Weasel and Whiskey Rodeo since the weasels have to go through some strain to get us the coffee... lol

Yes. Beer Geek Rodeo does not have Kopi Luwak in it because of a mistake we made. Weasel Rodeo and Whiskey Barrel Rodeo have Kopi Luwak coffee. If you see any Weasel Rodeo or Whiskey Rodeo bottle, it contains Kopi Luwak.

It seems like few things make me as happy as hearing about these new JK beers. That makes 3-4 new/redux editions to hunt down (Das batch 2, Das 'strong', Funk, and now this).

Man it feels good to be part of the Texas craft community circa 2012.
