Everything Jester King

I always thought that was the downtown location.

 

Houston decided to rename that area midtown as I guess they think it sounds more hip.

That is indeed the downtown Specs store as it was always called back in the day.

 

I was looking at Belgians about a month ago at Arbor Walk and there were a good 5 cases of Drinkin' hidden on the bottom shelf, still sealed. Guessing that's where they came from.

I'm continually surprised at the 4 cases of Noble King that has been sitting in a corner at the S Congress HEB. Been there a good 4-5 months.

They might move them if they, ya know, put them on a shelf.

 

I'm not. That was a one and done beer for me. I honestly don't know anyone who raved about it.

It just didn't tickle my fancy... I liked the idea though.

 

Ya know, I loved it on draft, was ambivilent in bottles, and completely hated it on cask. My girlfriend loves that beer though. She bought a case, lol.

EDIT: Oh, were you talking about Noble King? I was talkin about Drinkin.

 

Noble King. Drink'in is A-ok with me.

 

Wow really? The way Lutter described it is the exact description I would give for Drink'n minus the girlfriend, mine seems to prefer wild ales and sours (she loves Brux). Noble King is one of my favorite Jester King beers.

 

My girlfriend makes the face of a baby eating a lemon if I even let her smell a sour/wild ale.

 

You should try to find DFH Black and Blue, its like a blush. I barely got to try any she took the whole bottle.

 

Where are you guys seeing Noble King? Haven't seen any in a while there was some commercial suicide at WF Kirby the other day, WF bellaire had weasel rodeo and OG black metal

In Houston, I've seen it recently at specs jones/290 and Westheimer/kirkwood.

 

I saw a few bottles in the cooler at Whole Foods Kirby two weeks ago.

 

Ditto. We must run in the same circles. I work by the 290/Jones and live by Westheimer/Kirkwood. lol

 

I believe there's plenty to go around at D&Q mini-mart. That's how he got 3 cases instead of 1 by taking on additional product that wasn't exactly flying off the shelves. I'll probably end up buying a few of those bottles he got in. Loved Gotlandsdricka and Buddha's Brew. Can't wait to get my hands on Das Uberkind.

 

I just "azzyed" 2 bottles of OG Black Metal I found at specs in Beaumont. I burped afterward.

 

I saw plenty of Noble King at Spec's on Holcombe/Med Center last week. Spec's Mason even had 1 bottle of Weasel Rodeo last week.

 

Live by 290/jones and work by Westheimer/kirkwood.

 

CM Westgate in Austin has 4 cases of Funk Metal. $14.99 apiece.

Also, while y'all were buying Funk Metal, I just scored a Stone 12.12.12 at CM.
