They did the next day. I'm sure that was a nice phone call for the distributor working out how much they owe Spec's.

I do hope that people were honest and were telling the cashier the correct price. Stuff like this doesn't hurt Spec's, but it might hurt JK's relationship with their distributor. Is that really worth saving $7 on a bottle of beer? Sigh.

Dad always told me that "lyin', cheatin', and stealin ain't ever necessary". Okay, he is from Chicago, and doesn't have a southern accent in the least bit, but I digress.

Events of the day have put me in a foul mood so please forgive. To answer your question: Yes. And if I knew it would actually hurt that relationship more I would do it 10 times over. There are a couple of places in Austin that are going to close their JK account if they only get 1 case of the next release (one being the closest place for me to get good beer). Both places told me that without even soliciting their opinion on the matter. They are that mad and they are through with it. It's hurting relationships with their regulars. I was a good example, my regular stop sold out of FM before I could get there. I spent all my substantial beer allowance at another location that had Funk Metal. You also have a situation where long time account holders are getting one case, told by the distributor everyone gets only 1 case, and hear that 4 show up at another location. So the distributor is just straight up lying to the stores.

IMO, Virtuoso is JK's biggest weakness right now and the sooner that relationship ends, the better for fans of JK. I have no clue what ending that relationship would do to JK itself so it may be in their best interest to keep it going. I really really really hope Ol Oi doesn't have this issue. Otherwise, I'm going to have some tough decisions being the rock-headed, stubborn celt I am. There's principalities involved Smokey!

14.99$ per bottle. They also still had a few 4-packs of Narwhal which I initially missed.

Sweet. I might have to drop by there tomorrow morning after work and pick up some more FM.

I've been seeing Narwhal all around lately. Took a while, but it's here.

Seriously - Whip In has Das Uberkind going for $16.99. I decided I'd make it until CM gets its shipment and picked up one of the last two Buddha Brew's instead.

Pretty sure I know which places you're referring to...8 cases for Whip-In and then 1 case for the minions. Don't know why JK thinks this isn't going to piss people off. I never make it to Whip-In...for one thing it's really far and inconvenient for me and also I've never found it to be very inviting. JK's local distribution is alienating a lot of good bottle shops and not to mention their fans and customers who spend their hard earned money on their expensive beer at these stores. I've heard the same grumblings from multiple bottle shops/liquor stores...and in the process I find myself holding a grudge. I've never heard positive things about Virtuoso...only have personal experiences to draw from...which haven't been very good.

Yes the do. I'm not a sour fan, just helping those out who are. Only beer from them I really want to try is Funk Metal and eventually the Farmhouse BM.
