With this beer... you buy it and when you walk out the door, more seems to magically appear!
Specs: For Ninjas, by Ninjas.
More like... OG Black Metal: The beer that never dies.
In many ways... it's the Tupac of beer.
You hear it has died, never to return... yet every once in a while a few new cases show up.
They are secretly producing it en masse.
I scan but never find the ghost
its really just a hologram
Is OG Black Metal supposed to be hard to find? I never have issues finding bottles.
Well, considering they "stopped" making it over a year ago, and after the farmhouse not being as good people bought up all the OG. So we thought...
Yeah, I bought a case when they announced the switch, yet still have no trouble finding dusty bottles.
anyone else out here today? some cool guest taps
I must have missed you. The mikkeller Brett lambicus was awesome!
Do they not bottle Bonnie anymore? I see it on like every Saturday tap listing, never at shops.
When I was in at the anniversary party, I saw a whole palate of the bottles.
People are more clever here I guess, 'cause there's fuck all in Austin.
They actually have poured it from bottles whenever I've had it at the brewery.
LOL. It sat at Spec's Brodie for like 8 months near the front door.
I'm guessing they sent all that beer... sunkissed with love and passionate heat *mwah!* to Houston after all the Austin people decided not to buy it.
Yeah. I just meant it's on the list.
I'd like to see some in Houston again soon.
We'll make another batch of Bonnie the Rare and will bottle some of the batch.
Awesome. Looking forward to it! I guess it wouldn't be rare if you bottled it all the time.
Was out there yesterday. Had a very good time.
To further my post everyone I talked to was super cool and friendly. The beers I got to try were all amazing. Pizza was good too and was happy to try a pint of funk metal which I'd love a bottle of if anyone knows where some is still sitting. Picked up an el Cedro and ru-55 to share with friends back home. Also guy in the tap room made fun of my non beer drinking friend for pronouncing Brettanomyces wrong which gave me a chuckle. He had never had a sour beer before and seemed to enjoy them. Will definitely make this something I try to do every time I'm back.
As far as the funk metal goes, give the HEB on Lakeline a shot. Saw 6 bombers sitting as of Thursday.
Specs ROund Rock still has TONS of Funk if you'll be driving north out of town - it's right off I-35 at exit 256
Currently enjoying a convict hill oatmeal stout. Everything I've had from Texas so far has been pretty solid. Lots of good stuff going on here.
When's salt lick hitting Houston?
The week before it hits Austin.
Yeah. DQ FTW.
I saw even more OG Black Metal at Spec's Smith St. this morning.
just thought of something, ISO: JK Teku glass, when are they gonna make one
Tekus are meh.
I'd love a JK Teku.
Hell yes. They definitely need more JK schwag so I can throw in as extras.
How many oz is a Teku?
My Deschutes Teku will fit a 12oz bottle with room to spare for head. They're probably around 14oz to the brim.
Cool. Meh. I like my tulip.
Jeff, do you guys think you'll ever make Thrash Metal again?
I keeps getting better with age. I swear it.
Old man flavor. Siq
