    Fantastic label.

Buddha's Brew debuted at the brewery today, and Whip In just posted that they now have it on tap. Dont think bottles are available yet, but might be worth trying first!

Went to The Monterey in San Antonio tonight. Had a whole Jester King section of the beer menu. Had a (verrry well priced) Whiskey Rodeo with dinner!

I was there and it's fantastic. Definitely different from anything I've had and probably my favorite by JK. I gots the shirt for it too.

Did you poke any questions? Like when they're shipping?

We're currently waiting on TTB approval for our Buddha's Brew label. It seems like it's taking longer than normal, which we suppose has to do with the abnormal description on the label: "Sour Wheat Ale Fermented in Oak Whiskey Barrels with Kombucha Added". Ordinarily we'd be able to ship the beer out once we have TTB approval, but Texas also requires TABC approval, which should take another 3 or 4 weeks.

We bottled around 200 cases of Buddha's Brew. Except for a few cases for out of state events, it will all be going to the Texas market.

200 cases is closer to Boxers and Weasel than Whiskey and Bonnie right?

So will Funkmetal be released around the same time? And I'm assuming we're expecting a late October mid November for Buddah correct?

So a double down on Buddha is a good thing.

I like the sounds of this:

"We enjoy the “clean” version of the style and think you will too. However, we’re also interested in how the beer will present after having undergone additional fermentation with wild yeast and souring bacteria. We presently have a version of Gotlandsdricka that we inoculated with wild yeast and bacteria aging in oak barrels. If we’re happy with the results, we’ll release the soured version several months from now, once it’s ready."

It was OK...It really struck be as more of an alcoholic tea rather than a beer with sour tea added. That probably made no sense. If you can make it to Whip-in on I35 in Austin, they have it on tap.

Kinda annoying that Kings #3 in Fort Worth has received every prior limited release, gets zero Bonnie and Whiskey, yet here a month later some stores get additional cases.

I've been fairly understanding of the distributor problems to date but unless I walk into Kings today and see a case of each I have to draw a line. When is JK going to leverage their growth and prestige to get a distributor that supports the accounts that have loyally supported their products?

I agree. Also they need to get a distributor who gives a sh!t about beer. I was speaking with a friend who works part time at one of the liquor stores in Dallas, and they said that it seems as though Virtuoso gives special attention to store's that do a good amount of wine business through them, and if you don't do much wine, you ain't getting much JK.

Yea I was talking to a friend of mine as well here recently that runs one of the local beers stores here in DFW that I wont mention the name of at the moment, but he was telling me that his Virtuoso/Jester King rep has owed him a case of some special wine for months now that his Virtuoso rep opened of his at some wine tasting a while back, and now the rep isnt wanting to repay him for his lost case of wine, and ever since then his rep has been ignoring him, and hasnt brought him any Jester King beers for the last few months now either. So needless to say he hasnt got any of the new Jester King beers that has been released over the last few months now which is bullshit to the store owner/manager, and myself since this is one of the few good beer stores around me...

Take 2 other Fort Worth examples. Hall's only got 1 case and was sold out by noon on the first day and the original Saucer didn't get any (now they were in the middle of their move mind you)...but come on..I'm pulling out my hair reading that things like Bonnie are just sitting on the shelf for weeks in other markets.

Either respect our market or just don't send us any.

I'd rather starve than be fed scraps like a runt.

    Sincerely,
Little Sisters of the Poor Beer Wasteland
