I had a Torpedo Shark I think it was the other day and thought it was ok. It had a kind of chalky finish which took away from the rest of the beer, but I'm looking forward to trying the rest of their lineup.

From what Trevor told me, they will start bottling in about a year to year and a half. Their focus right now is getting two 60bbl fermenters in there to add to their two 25bbl fermenters they have right now.

It's def their most unfiltered looking beer. But it is nothing I really think about when i'm drinking it.

I thought Torpedo Shark tasted pretty decent. Better than average.

Have yet to find Yellow Rose on tap.

I was able to sample Tornado Shark and Yellow Rose at Growler's and I have to say that I am VERY impressed. I think they have the potential to hit the market with Karbach caliber beers.

I use the word chalky when the taste is dry and powdery. It's a taste I remember that would get in my mouth when cleaning chalkboards/erasers.

I can see how you can get that from Tornado Shark. I definitely got that chalky/powdery taste and diacetyl from Jabberwocky. I was not a fan of that.

I'd read here that Yellow Rose was delicious, but was not unprepared all the same. I just ordered a pint on blind faith at WF Montrose and now I'm so tempted to get a growler.

Tailgators Magnolia has 667 right now. Golden Retriever Pub a quarter mile down from Tailgators has Gentlemen's Relish. Red Brick Tavern in Conroe had Lily & Seamus, but it blew recently, they have Tornado Shark right now and he was going to get a keg of Yellow Rose, but I havent been in there this week to see if he got it or not. Two Mules doesnt have any Lone Pint on tap right now.

Trevor didnt make any indications that the last batch of Yellow Rose was made any differently than the first, but that doesnt mean it wasnt, i just figured he'd said something if it was.

At D&T they said this time around they used hop pellets for Yellow Rose. The first release was with cones. There are plenty of great IPA's with pellets, and Yellow Rose is still damn good, so it does not bother me.

Thats probably true, because I did notice the boxes of Mosaic hops were smaller than the boxes of all the other hops they had in their walk in. And he actually might of mentioned that to me. That would make a minute difference in my opinion.

It turns out this batch used whole flower hops too. They ran out on their last batch but another brewery in town sold their supply of whole flower mosaic hops to Lone Point, which were used in the batch that's out now. The next batch will use pellets.

I do know the next batch of Lily & Seamus will be without kumquats. I got a growler of it the other day at Premium Draught and thought about that while drinking it and I think the absence of them wont be a factor.
