Can anyone tell me the story with this beer, I know the brewer and location but was when was it released, bottle count and to what states? I saw the non imperial version around but curious to the availability of bottles.
Well, I believe the importer is 12 Percent, so wherever they distribute. I can attest to Louisiana and Ohio.
12 Percent has told me that Whole Foods on Bowery is the best bet for new or limited Evil Twin stuff, they may be your best bet. Not sure when and how many were released.
Not a lot around. And what out there is all there is until it is re brewed but I don't know when that might be. Worth the effort I think. My customers sucked the keg version down in short order.
It was brewed in South Carolina, then "imported"/distributed nationally by 12%. I've seen kegs and bottles numerous times but have no idea how much was made total, and I want to say it was released sometime in early-mid April.
Atlanta got some. Picked a couple bottles up last week and had one yesterday. Very good beer. A bit roastier than I prefer, but the rating it's garnered thus far on BA is legit, IMO. I was impressed. Price is insane though. I think I spent $17 per bottle. Very good beer, but at that price, it needs to be transcendent or something.
I bought a bottle here in the Philly burbs for about $15, IIRC. I thought it was worth it, really amazing stuff.
I got mine at WF on Greenwich in Tribeca, about 15 bucks with tax. Very tasty but obviously price was a bit steep.
Bierkraft in Park Slope often has Evil Twin stuff. It comes in waves though, 6-8 different bottles at a time and then not much for a while. They've had a number of bottles of biscotti break for a while now. Being Bierkraft, it's quite expensive. It's an OK beer but not really worth the money. I find this to be the case with most Evil Twin and Mikkeller stuff, unfortunately.
