They are all IBB base. Regular, Natale and Doughnut are all the same recipe base, just different things add at the end. We used 1000 glazed doughnuts (well 998 because Jeppe accused me of eating 2 ) from Glazed doughnuts here in charleston. If you look on the label it had there logo under the name

If brewers are going to create beers with junk food, why not "Russian Imperial Big Mac"? "Cheetos 90 Minute IPA"? Anyone else like to add to this?:wink:

I posted this on evil twins FB page. Here is a pic of some of the spent doughnuts after pulling them out of the Brite. Yummy.

Do they mention anything about this being a brewery only release, or will it be distributed?

It's Evil Twin so it will be released. We actually can't sell Evil Twin bottles at the brewery, has to go through 12% distro first, so it's never brewery only. We do serve samples of their stuff but that's all.

So roughly $2k in doughnuts in the beer. Makes me wonder how much more this one will cost.

Question Mike, why the "porter" moniker if it's the IBB base? Without getting into the "porter is a stout, is a stout a porter" debate, just curious if Jeppe did it to make the beer seem different. Or if people would be apt to try a porter with all that sweet doughnut goodness in there, versus a thick as shit stout with all that sugar floating in it.

BTW, I want pictures of someone eating out of that mesh bag of black doughnut sludge after ya'll pulled it.

I had read a post from Jeppe on another website awhile back where he said that calling it a stout on the label was a mistake. From what I understand, he added all his beers over at Ratebeer and continues to enter them as "Imperial Porter". Like you said though, imperial stout/imperial porter is a gray area anyways. Correct me if I'm wrong too, but isn't Lil' B the base for IBB?

Yeah I don't know about the porter thing that's Jeppe's dept. As for Lil B, we only made it once and it was the same base as IBB just without coffee or any other flavors. However since it is now being made in CT I have no clue if the recipe is the same.

Or you could do a 5.6% beer with a pound of hops and a metric ton of butterscotch and call it an english triple ipa.

Having had Westbrook beers at the Festival in Maine, I can only dream of getting some Westbrook beers here in Mass. So I am forced to "settle" for the beers they brew for Evil Twin.
