How is the Evil Twin distribution in Oregon? Seekabrew says it is there, but "limited." I am sending some beer to a friend in Oregon and was thinking about including a bottle of Imperial Biscotti Break because it is so awesome, but don't want to if it is getting dusty on shelves there.
Wrong forum, Oregon is in the Northwest forum. Probably want to ask a mod to move this or repost over there.
Where in Oregon?? In Portland try Belmont Station. Have picked up a bit there. Check their bottle list for pretty accurate current list.
Evil Twin seemed pretty plentiful when I was in Portland. Plus I really can't imagine Imperial Biscotti Break getting much worse at all if it's sitting an extra few months on the shelf.
Just as a quick additional comment... For the most part, you won't find ET stuff at the local Whole Foods or Market of Choice, but better craft brew stores carry a decent supply of their beers (doesn't compare to what you can find in better stores out East of course, but IBB is available out here). In Portland, places like Belmont Station, John's Marketplace and beermongers will carry IBB (just as an example), while here in Eugene you can typically find it at the Bier Stein and 16 tons (BS has bottles available at present, but I don't think 16 tons does). In fact, we even get kegs from time to time; I've seen it on tap at the Apex and Belmont Station in Portland, and on tap at Bier Stein and 16 tons. Shrug. It's not all that easy to find it (you have to know where to go to get some), but yeah.... it's definitely available out here.
If your trading partner is not in Portland or other main cities along the I-5 corridor, Evil Twin of any kind is a rarity if it's seen at all. The posts above represent the best case scenarios for the whole state of Oregon. I don't think Imperial Biscotti Break is a shelf turd anywhere, though.
That's my impression down here in Eugene as well. I can't remember when I haven't see it available over at the Bier Stein. When I lived on the East Coast, ET IBB was just another expensive, barrel aged RIS (one of many; other than parabola, I can't think of a barrel aged impy stout that wasn't priced at least $20 for a bomber). So I don't think the high price affected the demand for the beer out there. Here in Oregon, however, it's right up there with 50/50 elipse as one of the more expensive bombers in the store. It's a good beer, but here in Eugene, folks just generally aren't willing to pay that much money for a bottle of beer, so IBB tends to sit around in the store.
We sell more than a few of their expressions at Liquor Outlet here in Salem.. Not incredibly fast movers, but started bringing them in on customer requests.
