Does anyone have an idea on how many of these are floating around? Likely one of my fav ba stouts so I was thinking of tossing up an iso. From memory they were also in the 150-200 dollar range. Any help is appreciated.

Not many. It was supposedly a single barrel (the so-called "epic barrel") that only went into the 3Ls, so that means there were maybe 30 made, and I think it was closer to a dozen sold. I know some have been consumed, and know at least one more is off the trading block. You can probably get one, but I think it'll be tough.

I don't remember the price, but the 3Ls were $180 last year, so my guess is around there.

As for the EPIC single barrel EC18s, they were only on sale at the party and there were only 3 or 4. For the 3L list at the 2011 party was: 3 3L EC18, 3 HH Rye, 3 EC12 BART, and 3 Brandy Old Conundrum and also 2 EC12 3L.

EDIT: I would also like to add if anyone has 1 of the EC18 or HH Rye or EC12 3L please message me, I would love to work something out!!

If that's true then it's entirely possible that there may be none of them left.

At the 2011 party there was also Brandy BART 3L's. I could've sworn there was also a PVW Eclipse jerobaum sold as well. I wish I had taken a picture of the list from the 2011 party.

Nope, no PVW 3L, but they were selling bottles of PVW though.

I still have a bottle of the 3L EC18. Not for trade but will probably bring to release party maybe next year. Should be primed then.

I picked up a 3L Grand Cru, (copper wax) at the '12 release party. I think it was 1 of 50 bottles and not many of them sold that I know of. Quite the dinosaur in the cellar. I like the idea on a previous post of bringing it to the next Eclipse release party to share.

They had true 20 elijah Craig bottles on sale at the brew pub the weekend after the party, I'm kicking myself not picking some up but at $35 they were pretty steep. Is this the same stuff or completely different? Maybe Todd can enlighten us

They sold them at the party as well. Todd told me that this year (2012) there it's no question, he is certain they were EC 20 year barrels.

You might want to check with the OP - I'm guessing he opened this thread in search of an Eclipse 3L.

Different. From my understanding there are 3 different beers:

    1) 2011 release bombers EC18 that they initially called 20 because they thought they were getting 20 but they got 18. Had futures and were distributed.
    2) 2011 release 3L bottles EC18 "epic barrel", a single barrel that was only bottled into those 3Ls. Some may have been kegged I don't really know. I only know of this "epic barrel" shenanigans second-hand. 3Ls sold only at the brewery.
    3) 2012 release bombers EC20, pub-only release.

    Makes sense?

Craig actually has an unopened EC18 3L. Jason had one, but we drank it last year (it was indeed pretty amazing).

I guess Craig's 3L may be the last one left. Wales.

Edit: Nevermind. Sounds like there's a couple of them left.

Yeah I didn't think there were only 3 made, that was apparently wrong.
